More Classics-Getting Sequel-ized!!? Don’t Bet on it!

Yeah well that ain’t all Ihave to say about classics getting a sequel instead of a reboot-On a lower budget scale how about The Gate 3 with Stephen Dorff and Louis Tripp? Damn get these guys back together-and I don’t give a shit if it’s direct to dvd-it’d totally rule to get the Gate opened again. Perhaps Tripp’s character Terry could be a in a unsuccessful/successful metal band? Dorff could be a whiny bitch like he was in the amazing first film! I personally would LOVE to see this happen but it’s really wishful thinking…and yeah that’s the whiny little kid now from the Gate below-not sure why he’s clutching his crotch like that with a towel-I bet if you added Louis Tripp to this picture though he’d be covering up pretty quickly!

How about the Monster Squad 2? Come on! That’d be awesome! There could be a whole new group of kids with some new monsters! Or the adult team could be formed again by original star Andrew Gower facing a whole new group of Monsters??!! Continue reading

Everything You Need to Know About Monsters and More!

I just stumbled upon and interview/article that’s got everything you need to know about the master of monsters, Guillermo Del Toro! I have to say I pretty much worship the guy and love just about every movie he’s made or even produced for that matter (minus Splice).

In this interview you get the scoop on what makes this guy tick, just why he LOVES monsters so much, his upcoming projects (no Hulk news yet though) and what his plans were for the Hobbit. Anyway I am crossing my fingers too for a Hellboy 3 but still no word-in the mean time check this interview out here!

In the Video below he talks about his upcoming Lovecarft epic At the The Mountains of Madness…

Guillermo Del Toro meets Incredible Hulk!!!!

Wow I am sooooo blown away by the news that I just heard I feel like I must be dreaming! It seems that a certain incredible creative team is getting ready to blow some life back into the Hulk again in a big way! Apparently Guillermo Del Toro and David Eick of Battlestar Galactica fame will teaming up to bring us a brand spankin’ new vision of the Hulk for our TV screens according to Deadline.

This is probably the BEST Hulk news yet as everyone knows Guillermo knows how to make a good comic book movie (Hellboy, Blade 2) and certainly knows how to bring a monster to life!! It seems that Del Toro will be directing and Deadline reported this little interesting bit of info that also makes me sing with glee to the  jade giant: “Del Toro will also oversee the designing of the Hulk character, which is expected to draw on previous comic book incarnations, as well as the original 1978-82 Incredible Hulk TV series, with a few wild tweaks on the old look. Unlike the two Hulk movies, in which the monster was a pure CGI creation, the series will employ a mixture of prosthetics, puppetry and CGI.”

Finally!!! A realistic version of the Hulk to look forward to! Continue reading

Boromir & The Medievil Apocolyspe!!

Well it’s good tohave some movies to look forward to that you’re turely pumped about! It seems that there hasn’t been much out there in the way of fantasy flicks to to get really excited about. Epecially since Clash of the Titans turned out to be such a disappointment and the recent news of Del Toro leaving The Hobbit high and dry has been a pretty big blow of disappointment. But fear not! There’s another movie I think fantasy fans should get pretty stoked on!

The Black Death is an upcoming supernatural thriller set during the times of the black plague as a band of warriors led by a monk quest a sorceror who’s rumored to be able to bring the dead back to life. Continue reading

Guillermo Del Toro Leaves The Hobbit!!!! Dammit!!!

What the SHIT!!!! So news is apparrently that Guillermo Del Toro has officially quit The Hobbit!! This has got to be some sort of nightmare that I just can’t seem to wake from! But I assure you that this is the sad truth as he told TheOneRing.net  flat out that he’s just too damn tired of waiting to make this shit happen!! Well guess what? I’m pretty fucking tired of waiting for this shit to happen too!!! Apparently he can’t seem to commit to spending six years in New Zealand as he has been facing a boat load of delays on the project and was only signed on to be there originally for three years. It’s no wonder he split as they don’t even have a god damn Bilbo Baggins cast yet! Ok guys I have been holding back a bit on saying this but seriously….GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER ALREADY!  JEEEZUS! I must say I too have been wondering what the hell these guys have been doing for the last few years myself-I mean really the damn story has already been written-GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!

Anyway this is what he had to say about it: Continue reading

A Date in Middle Earth to Look Forward Too!

So now we all finally have a date to look forward to for the The Hobbit, the highly anticipated sequel (DUH!) to The Lord of the Rings trilogy! Ever since I heard that Guillermo del Toro had been chosen as the director for this 2 part film I have been almost more almost more excited about it it than I was originally about Peter Jackson! Originally the Hobbit was supposed to hit theaters in 2011 but now the new word is that we’re looking at a December 2012 release date. That’s a LONG time to wait isn’t it? What gives? And how come we still have no one attached to play Bilbo Baggins yet??!

At least we know that Ian Mckellan will be reprising his role as Gandalf and rumours are suggesting that filming will begin in June. I don’t want to the rush the guys but it’s going to be a long two years!! Nothing though compared to the amount of time Peter Jackson took to make The Lord of the Rings. With both Jackson and del Toro together behind these two films it’s bound to be worth the wait!

Ok so I know I have posted this song like at least three other times here but any chance I get you can bet I’ll take it!

That’s Solomon Kane NOT Van Helsing!

I am a total sucker for fantasy films. I simply do not believe enough good or even bad fantasy movies have been put out for our viewing pleasure! So naturally I am most pumped for The Hobbit, can’t WAIT for Clash of the Titans, excited about Conan even though I am not too thrilled at their choice of Jason Momoa and actually pretty darn keen on Solomon Kane! So until The Hobbit hits theaters I’m gonna have to take what I can get! So far it looks as if Solomon Kane is going to be a fun fantasy flick at the very least. I am pretty easy to please in the fantasy department, I mean I even enjoyed Van Helsing for cryin’ out loud! Does that totally destroy any cred I may have had?? I have to say though he does kinda look like Van Helsing huh?

Well Solomon Kane was created by none other than Robert E. Howard (Conan the Barbarian) which obviously means gritty tales of high adventure and plenty of monsters. Continue reading

Tobey Maguire to star as Bilbo Baggins?!

Rumors are flying today as several sources like Cinematical.com and Britain’s The Sun are saying that Tobey Maguire has signed on as the lead in Guillermo del Toro’s The Hobbit!  According to Cinematical.com “AMC Entertainment blogger John Campea recently tweeted that someone close to production has leaked the same news to him. He said, “I have been personally told by a source very close to Guillermo del Toro that it’s true… Tobey Maguire IS The Hobbit.”

Though it’s not offical yet it seems to me that this could be a great choice for Bilbo. Continue reading

New Clash of the Titans Pics!!

I was on Empire Online today and saw some pretty cool images of the upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans. I know, another remake RIGHT?!! Clash of the Titans was a classic so they better put some care into this film. What I have heard so far is that they are not paying any homage to Ray Harryhausen and his stop motion brilliance. Is this a good thing? My feeling is probably not since it will most likely be a CG shit fest! But the images which I’ve seen thus far actually look pretty damn cool. I have also read that this will be a much grittier film with Perseus being much more of a badass. The fate of this movie remains to be seen but what I always do welcome is another fanatsy film to look forward to until The Hobbit comes out! Hey if anyone can reccomend me a good one in the time being please do I’m all ears. What do you think of these new pics?

clash of the titans 2
