Guillermo Del Toro meets Incredible Hulk!!!!

Wow I am sooooo blown away by the news that I just heard I feel like I must be dreaming! It seems that a certain incredible creative team is getting ready to blow some life back into the Hulk again in a big way! Apparently Guillermo Del Toro and David Eick of Battlestar Galactica fame will teaming up to bring us a brand spankin’ new vision of the Hulk for our TV screens according to Deadline.

This is probably the BEST Hulk news yet as everyone knows Guillermo knows how to make a good comic book movie (Hellboy, Blade 2) and certainly knows how to bring a monster to life!! It seems that Del Toro will be directing and Deadline reported this little interesting bit of info that also makes me sing with glee to the  jade giant: “Del Toro will also oversee the designing of the Hulk character, which is expected to draw on previous comic book incarnations, as well as the original 1978-82 Incredible Hulk TV series, with a few wild tweaks on the old look. Unlike the two Hulk movies, in which the monster was a pure CGI creation, the series will employ a mixture of prosthetics, puppetry and CGI.”

Finally!!! A realistic version of the Hulk to look forward to! Wow I feel like all my bitching has finally got me some where-has ABC been reading my blog or what?? I can only imagine that Del Toro is going to hit a home run with this one. Perhaps this has had something to do with the more recent success of The Walking Dead? I mean maybe getting a good movie director like Frank Darabont on the Walking Dead inspred ABC to annie up and make this something special?

Well it certainly has me excited. What I am really wondering is what storyline they will be following? Could it be the whole Rick Jones gamma testing site ordeal or something more like the original tv show? Will the series feature villains like the Abomination, The Leader or Absorbing Man?

Or will it be based more in reality and be more simply a “Banner on the run” premise? Perhaps it’ll be a mix of all of this. Finally could it be possible to get Mark Ruffalo on board for the series as well?  Who knows now that we’ve got ol’ Guillermo on board anything is possible. Either way it’s sounding…well…Incredible! Now it’s just the wait until it’s projected 2012 premiere. Hopefully Del Toro will last the wait and not ditch out like he did on The Hobbit!
