Guillermo Del Toro meets Incredible Hulk!!!!

Wow I am sooooo blown away by the news that I just heard I feel like I must be dreaming! It seems that a certain incredible creative team is getting ready to blow some life back into the Hulk again in a big way! Apparently Guillermo Del Toro and David Eick of Battlestar Galactica fame will teaming up to bring us a brand spankin’ new vision of the Hulk for our TV screens according to Deadline.

This is probably the BEST Hulk news yet as everyone knows Guillermo knows how to make a good comic book movie (Hellboy, Blade 2) and certainly knows how to bring a monster to life!! It seems that Del Toro will be directing and Deadline reported this little interesting bit of info that also makes me sing with glee to the  jade giant: “Del Toro will also oversee the designing of the Hulk character, which is expected to draw on previous comic book incarnations, as well as the original 1978-82 Incredible Hulk TV series, with a few wild tweaks on the old look. Unlike the two Hulk movies, in which the monster was a pure CGI creation, the series will employ a mixture of prosthetics, puppetry and CGI.”

Finally!!! A realistic version of the Hulk to look forward to! Continue reading

There Will Be NO Wolverine Movie Sequel!! Yay!

Wow now here’s some good news out there for all of you people who actually love the character, Wolverine. It has been confirmed by Darren Aronofsky that the upcoming Wolverine movie he is directing will NOT be a sequel to that god awful pile of  flaming horseshit we were delivered a couple years back entitled X-men Origins: Wolverine he tells Hitfix. Instead this movie will be an entity entirely of its own.

“The film that he’s directing is officially called “The Wolverine,” Continue reading

The New Small Screen Hulk: Human or Cg?

So I am quite sure you have all heard the news out there about Marvel’s big plan to reboot the Incredible Hulk television show. I was personally quite surprised at the idea but at the same time excited and upset. The original  tv show was one of my all-time favs as a kid and even as an adult I own the episodes on dvd and still will argue that good ol’ Lou Ferrigno is the best Hulk to hit the big or small screen. So what does this all mean for the upcoming tv show?

Rumor has it that it will feature a similar storyline with the “Banner on the Run” theme once again. This all sounds great when you look back at the old series, but still there must be a reason why the two movies were never really that well recieved. When Lou Ferrigno was aksed why the show was such a success and the movies tanked he hit the nail on the head Continue reading

Hasselhoff’d Nick Fury Remembered!!

Could it be that I just blocked this incredible peice of tv cinema from my memory?? Is it possible that I have never seen the David Hasselhoff “Nick Fury” movie before?? Yes. Apparently the Nick Fury movie came out in 1998 and was made for tv-perhaps my mind just refused at the time to register this? Well whatever the case I need to check this out as soon as possible!

From this lengthy trailer it appear that this one could be a real golden turd! I mean how could this one have slipped under the radar for so many years?? Well truth be told here I kinda dig Hoff in the role-at least appearance-wise.

Anyway I am off to ebay to find this one and hopefully it will live up to all of my expectations as bad movie GOLD…..

The Incredible Hulk Dumps Edward Norton!!

WTF?!!! Oh I am sure you’ve all heard the news about Edward Norton NOT reprising his role as The Hulk in the upcoming Avengers Flick! This some sad news as now it seems as the movies are not tied together as tightly as they once were in preparation in creating a mini Marvel movie universe. I heard from the start that there were problems with Norton as he was not at all pleased with the final outcome of The Incredible Hulk as he hoped for a longer more extensive cut of the film. Then it was his high salary he demanded to repsise the role of Banner in which Marvel clearly rejected. Now we get news of some unknown actor claiming the role of Banner in the Avengers flick.

Sorry that just ain’t good enough as Norton was one of the main reasons why the film worked so well in the first place. Yeah since now we have a clearly fully CG Hulk what really matters truely is who is actually in the role of good ol’ Bruce. Hopefully they can still pull it off, though clearly the film has already now lost some major excitement as one of the key actors will not be returning.

So hopefully the rest of the gang can show up for the party! I mean what happens if Robert Downey Jr. decides HIS paycheck is not enough??? I guess really he and Samuel L. Jackson are the key players so in order to make this film truely work we have to have them back for sure! I personally am still holding out for either Norton or Marvel to change their mind. If you’re gonna do something as epic as this you gotta do it the right way!! In any event I am sure Hulk will still SMASH, just maybe not as hard….

Robert Rodriguez to Dirty Up Deadpool Movie?!

So here’s alittle good news for X-men fans, it seems that Robert Rodriguez, according to The Playlist is being considered to possibly direct the Deadpool spin off! Too bad we couldn’t have gotten him to direct the next Wolverine movie!!

I’ll say at first I was extremely pesimistic about the Deadpool movie, for the simple fact that it was a spin off of the steaming goliath of terd Wolverine solo film we were all subjected to endure. I had a feeling when the spin off was announced that it’d be even a bigger disappointment. Continue reading

Arnim Zola Revealed in Upcoming Cap Movie!!

Ok first off sorry if it suddenly seems as if I have been slackin’ on the blogging lately! I have been working like crazy ever since I got back from my cross country road trip! So anyway I just found out about this today so pardon me if for some reason this is old news to you. It seems that there has been a new villain announced for the new  upcoming Captain America movie, Arnim Zola!!!

I will say this is fantastic news as I wasn’t sure if it’d only be the Red Skull cap was up against. So today I find out that little guy Toby Jones (Infamous, Harry Potter) will be portraying the legenday villain! Continue reading

The Mighty Thor Finally Revealed!

So here we go finally! A first glimpse at the Chris Hemsworth Thor this evening! What did you think? Do you think this is going to be the next Iron Man?? So far so good I say! It’s got a little of the old Thor and a bit of the Ultimates Thor. I personally thought they were going to go all the way with portraying him as the Ultimates version but this first pic proved they’ve left a little something for the die hard fans. I know in this pic the legendary helmet and Mjolnir (his mighty hammer) is missing but who knows he may have just stepped out of the shower! Either way this is good news as it takes us one step closer to The Avengers movie! What do you think?

1978: A Great Year For Marvel Model Kits!

As you may have noticed there has been a bit of a lull in the posting here as I am actually back in Wisconsin visiting with my family and getting ready to take a road trip back to Oregon this week. So if I don’t post for the majority of the week it’s because I am driving cross country! Anyway today I went out into the shed at my parents home here in the northwoods and checked out some of my old toys that I have stored here. There are some damn good ones! Old Transformers, tons of Super Powers figures, Secret Wars figures, Inhumanoids, actual Muppets puppets, G.I. Joes, lunch boxes, tons of  He-Man and suprisingly quite a few toys that are for some reason missing!

Anyway I did find two things I was looking for in particular. Two Marvel models from 1978 made by a company called Fandimensions. Continue reading
