G.I. JOE Action Stars Cereal Transformed You Into a Bonafide 80s Badass!

‘G.I. Joe Action Stars’ cereal was quite a way to start your day off in 1985! Yes, if you ever dreamed of being like Duke, Sgt. Slaughter or heck even Rambo all you apparently had to do back then was grab a box of this likely highly unhealthy but flashy sugary meal to pump you UP from your local grocery store. I mean c’mon look at this damn box-it’s the food of true action heroes……obviously!

I’m not gonna lie, I want to order that G.I. Joe tee from the back of the damn box! And even better, it appears once you’re done stuffing your face with the yummy action star shaped “Cheerios” you can actually transform the cereal box into some sort of Cobra radio relay station?!! Break out the action figures ASAP!

Talk about getting your money’s worth! Also the commercial for this wicked cereal is the ultimate selling point, putting any kid who eats it on rip roarin’ adventure with the Joe’s!! Sign me up!

Interesting fun factoid, the character featured here named “Starbuster” only appeared in cartoon form in this one and only epic commercial!

Totally 80’s Comic Book Cover of the Week: Destro Betrayed!!

Oh how I love me some 1980’s Mike Zeck comic book covers!! He did a ton of rad covers in the 80’s for G.I. Joe and here is easily in my opinion one of his best. Issue number 38 from 1985’s cover proves that often times keeping things simple is the best recipe for something memorable. Here we’ve got an excellent depiction of big baddie Destro as he’s facing off with Cobra’s most popular ninja badass Storm Shadow! This one is a total classic and you can feel the tension between these two iconic villains, one of my fave ‘Joe covers by one of the best comic book artists ever…

Battle of the Insults: Skeletor vs. Donald Trump vs. Cobra Commander!!

When it comes to insulting & ridiculing people no one can do it better than Republican frontrunner Donald Trump and Masters of the Universe’s own ultimate asshole Skeletor!

Both are highly amusing yet incredibly idiotic, pop culture villains who will take any given chance to hurl an insult at their naysayers! So let’s pit these two jackasses against each other in a battle of insults to see just who’s got the most ridiculous cheap shots.

Both of these guys have a lot in common in especially in the way they take pride in ridiculing anyone and everyone who gets in their way!

Check this out as first up we have Skeletor!

…..and of course Mr. Big Mouth himself The Donald!!

This is just Part 1 so if you want some more Trump at his finest check out part two!

Oh and I think Cobra Commander could join these two for the fun as well! If only Trump could pick one of these guys as his running mate now that’d be entertainment!!

1978: A Great Year For Marvel Model Kits!

As you may have noticed there has been a bit of a lull in the posting here as I am actually back in Wisconsin visiting with my family and getting ready to take a road trip back to Oregon this week. So if I don’t post for the majority of the week it’s because I am driving cross country! Anyway today I went out into the shed at my parents home here in the northwoods and checked out some of my old toys that I have stored here. There are some damn good ones! Old Transformers, tons of Super Powers figures, Secret Wars figures, Inhumanoids, actual Muppets puppets, G.I. Joes, lunch boxes, tons of  He-Man and suprisingly quite a few toys that are for some reason missing!

Anyway I did find two things I was looking for in particular. Two Marvel models from 1978 made by a company called Fandimensions. Continue reading

Get Prepared for the next REAL summer blockbuster!

So this summer so far we’ve had some blockbusters right? Some downright awesome summer movies that just blew you away?! Ones that you will remember for years to come? I remember the first time I saw Jurassic Park. It literally blew my mind! That was a summer blockbuster alright. I am still totally amused by that movie though I have seen it like a hundred times.
