Wow now here’s some good news out there for all of you people who actually love the character, Wolverine. It has been confirmed by Darren Aronofsky that the upcoming Wolverine movie he is directing will NOT be a sequel to that god awful pile of flaming horseshit we were delivered a couple years back entitled X-men Origins: Wolverine he tells Hitfix. Instead this movie will be an entity entirely of its own.
“The film that he’s directing is officially called “The Wolverine,” and there won’t be a number attached to it. In our interview, he referred to the movie as a “one-off,” and he emphasized that the film isn’t a sequel in any conventional sense” they report. The story still will revolve around Wolverine heading off to Japan and hopefully THIS will be the movie true Wolverine fans have been craving. It’s also good news to know that the film will indeed be based on the brilliant 1982 Wolverine mini series. This is what has been said so far-“The source for the film will be the four-issue Wolverine mini-series by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, published in 1982. The story, famously conceived as Claremont and Miller traveled home from the San Diego Comic Con, saw Wolverine heading to Japan on the trail of his love Mariko Yashida. He arrives to find her married to a cold businessman, and he soon finds himself at odds with Mariko’s father and the ninja clan The Hand.”
This gives me hope as I love Jackman as the character. Maybe this time we’ll get an interesting story, some real bloodshed by a man with razor shap claws and hopefully an actual villain(s) this time who doesn’t suck total donkey balls. Bring us Ogun,
The Silver Samurai,
What the hell, Razorfist even(actually I love this villain!),
but please just keep Leiv Shrieber the fuck away from the lame Sabretooth fangs!!
