Just go play “Wolverine” the Video game instead….

Recently my roomate got the new X-men Origins: Wolverine video game for Xbox. It is supposedly based on the movie, so I assumed it would be an ultra time wasting crap-fest. But to my surprise I was totally WRONG! In fact I would say if anyone wanted to know just how bad ass Hugh Jackman could have been as Wolverine they need to check out this game. The opening of this game is true Wolverine. The way he should have been done in the movie(s). It’s voiced by Jackman as well and believe me this game is bloody and brutal. The way Wolvie really is. When Wolverine uses his claws people bleed. Alot. I have a feeling this game was made because people knew just how truely shitty the movie was going to be. If you thought the Wolerine movie was good you need to see this cuz by the time it’s over you’ll remember what Wolverine is supposed to be like. So if you have not played this game yet, at the very least check out the opening sequence now-it makes me realize just how god damn cool the movie coulda’ shoulda’ been… 

Silverhawks & Tigersharks rule too!

So my last blog post mentioned two other cartoon series that the Thundercats creators also put out in the 80’s-The Silverhawks & The Tigersharks (are you noticing a trend in the naming of the cartoons yet). So Silverhawks was the space version of  Thundercats and the even lesser known Tigersharks was the water version! Neither of them had the success of the Thundercats but they were both equally awesome. The animation was once again top notch and the characters were just as cool(well mostly). I love the hillbilly Siverhawk “Bluegrass” too-he’s play guitar and is just plain rad. The Silverhawks also had a cool toy line and the first season is available on dvd!! 

The Tigersharks only lasted one season but you know what? I always thought it was still pretty damn rad! The show took place on the world of Water-O, which was covered completely by water(who would have figured huh?). The planet had a race of fish people called the Waterians(water, water, more water!!) . The TigerSharks arrived there on a research mission but ended up serving as the protectors of the planet against the bastardly T-Ray! They need to release that on dvd soon too- check these intros out from the show!

THUNDERCATS MOVIE?!!

The Thundercats were probably one of the coolest cartoons of the 1980’s hands down! For one it had amazing animation (especially for being a regular after school cartoon) which seeemed to be a step above the rest. Secondly it also produced some pretty amazing action figures and a Marvel comic book too! The creators of the Thundercats also made a couple other less popular cartoon series that were equally great, The Silver Hawks and The Tiger Sharks(check them both out sometime if you haven’t already).

 So I heard a couple years back they were supposed to make a movie of the Thundercats, so naturally I searched on Youtube for any teasers or random info. What I found instead was a pretty impressive fan made trailer! The scenes are obviously strung together from different movies and someone has oviously used some CG to make Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and Vin Diesel look exactly like the Thundercats. Hey I just wanted to share this for anyThundercats fans out there-it looks like a live action Thundercats movie could be pretty darn cool. From what I understand however it seems the movie that is currently in production will be an all CG cartoon version slated for release sometime in 2010. 

Deep Sea Basket case!!!

Just the other evening I posted a couple videos up here about some really awesome deep sea creatures. I was doing a little more research on the whole topic and decided to check out some videos of the Anglerfish. Wow, they are pretty damn creepy fish I must say! After viewing this particular video of an Anglerfish I thought I was onto something BIG!

Captain America #600 Speculation!

I’ve been getting pretty excited for the big anniversary issue (#600) and have been trying to figure out what this huge reveal/development/twist is going to be that Marvel has been so vocal about the last few weeks.

At this point we’ve pretty much all seen the ads for ‘REBORN’ in the last few weeks’ comics, but it seriously raises some interesting questions that may develop in #600:

Who or what is being reborn?

The obvious answer would be the return of Steve Rogers but Brubaker has been building up Bucky for a long time now and the character (as Cap) has only just recently been integrated into the Marvel Universe proper, it would seem illogical to bring Steve back right now. But with the movie in the works, Steve will have to be back by 2010 making it very possible he will return soon.

Real life Sea serpents!

I was up late last night and saw a cool little film of “The Monk Fish” which was one of the featured videos last night on You Tube. Deep sea creatures  always intrigue me so I checked out a vide from some time ago I saw with an amazing creature called the Oar Fish. I guess real sea serpents do exist. Check out this amazing animal in a rare sighting near shore:

Oh and here’s the video I saw of the Monk Fish too which is very creepy!!

Schwarzenegger to star in new Predator flick?!

I have just read some interesting news on one of my favorite websites Bloodydisgusting.com about good ol’ Arnold who’s been getting ALOT of attention here lately. Anyway it seems that Robert Rodriguez who is helming the new movie “Predators”  has been making calls and courting Schwarzenegger to return as “Dutch” in the new, now revealed sequel rather than a remake (thank god) . The only problem is Arnie ain’t calling back!
