Get Prepared for the next REAL summer blockbuster!

So this summer so far we’ve had some blockbusters right? Some downright awesome summer movies that just blew you away?! Ones that you will remember for years to come? I remember the first time I saw Jurassic Park. It literally blew my mind! That was a summer blockbuster alright. I am still totally amused by that movie though I have seen it like a hundred times.

Star Trek the movie = epic.

I had alot of doubts about the new Star Trek motion picture and like you may all know I’m pretty picky when it comes to the the things that I hold dear to me being put onto the big screen. I went into Star Trek with an open mind however and left the theater with my mind blown, already wanting a sequel! I must say Mr. Abrams was truely the man for the job, completely breathing exciting new life into the Star Trek franchise. This incredible movie exceeded all of my expectations. In fact it may even go down for me as the best Trek film ever.

Our New kirk better know how to Kick some ass!!

I am soooo pumped about the new STAR TREK movie opening tomorrow! Now we pass the role of Kirk on to Chris Pine. But for a moment let’s not forget how much of a total bad ass the orginal William Shatner “Kirk” really was and how much ass he kicked! Chris Pine you best have checked this out, cuz man could Kirk give a serious beatdown on his enemies!!

Will there be a little shatner in the new STAR TREK MOTION PICTURE?

I am sooooo pumped about the new Star Trek movie! Only weeks away now! I have the highest hopes that it is going to blow my mind. I am super pleased with the costumes as they look VERY similar to the original series and so far I am totally into the official Star Trek prequel comic book that has been coming out. I love the fact that it follows the continuity of the movies and features Nimoy returning as an older Spock! Hell I even loved the fact that they wouldn’t let Shatner return as Kirk in this movie since he officially died in Star trek “Generations”. I am very happy with the decision of Zachary Quinto as Spock but what worries me most of all is the portrayal of James T. Kirk in this new revamp.

Star trek: COUNTDOWN the official movie prequel!!

Hey i recently picked up Star Trek: Countdown comic book by IDW Publishing which is the official prequel to the upcoming J.J. Abrams film that has got people amped up so high they’re flying in circles at warp speed 20! I highly recommend checking this book out if you just can’t wait for your Trek fix until May of this year. Get the lowdown on Nero (the films Romulan villian who travels back in time to kill James T. Kirk- yeah good luck Nero on that one!) and Spock who now serves as ambassador for the Romulans. He is trying to warn them of a possible supernova that will threaten their very existence. Against the better wishes of the Romulans Spock is able get a group (Nero’s mining crew) together to go on a rogue mission to try and bring the Romulan isotope Decalithium to Vulcan where is can be processed to form a black hole that could possibly consume the supernova. The best thing about this story is who shows up on the books last page-and i can’t reveal it here. You will just have to check it out for yourself! With that said i hope the movie holds some similar surprises! Great art makes this comic a must have and I can’t wait for issue 2! Go get this ASAP!

R.I.P. Ricardo “Khan” Montalban

I haven’t been online in a couple days and was just informed by my friend at The Offical Star Trek Convention myspace page that Ricardo Montalban passed away Wednesday. He was 88. Ricardo was most famous for his role of “Khan Noonen Singh” who he first played in the 1967 Star Trek episode “The Space Seed” (one of the all-time best) and later reprising that role in one of sci-fi’s greatest movies, “Star Trek 2: the Wrath of Khan”. Ricardo was also a star of one of my all time favorite TV shows “Fantasy Island” where he played the role of the legendary “Mr. Rourke”. You will be missed Mr. Montalban…
