Let the Right One In Remake Pics!
So today via Moviehole I finally saw some stills from the upcoming remake of Let The Right One In, quite possibly one of greatest most unique vampire movies ever made. I have been severely skeptical about this particular remake now entitled “Let Me In” because simply the original is flawless. I only hope that this new American version ends up like “The Ring” remake which actually improved upon the original. The only thing now that this remake has going for it is Kick-Ass’ Chloe Mortez starring in it as the young vampiric Eli . I’ve got my fingers crossed!
New JAWS in the Water! Piranha Trailer hits!
I have been waiting sometime for the Alex Aja’s remake of Piranha and now the trailer has finally officially hit! One reason why I have been so pumped is because it seems Mr. Aja has made some pretty excellent horror films in his short career. The first being “High Tension” which was pretty awesome, The Hills Have Eyes remake which was also great and the not so fantastic Mirrors starring Kiefer Sutherland. Hey two out of three ain’t bad!

Hysterical Psycho – The Best Horror Comedy Since Evil Dead 2?!!
I have been hearing alot of horror hype lately around a new indie horror flick called Hysterical Psycho directed by funny guy Dan Fogler. You may already know Fogler from his roles in Fanboys or Balls of Fury. Well now he’s in the director’s seat with what many horror sites are saying is the best horror comedy since Evil Dead 2. I just read about it again on Bloody Digusting and they too are giving it rave reviews.
From what I can tell it sounds like a pretty run of the mill Slasher Flick in premise at least taking place at a creepy motel where a hysterical psycho resides. Not sure what all the hype is really about but I checked out the trailer and it looks as if it could indeed be alot of fun! Believe me I live for a good horror comedy but the best horror comedy since Evil Dead 2? Probably not…
Fright Night remake casting….yawn….
Ok so pretty much every damn movie you can think of is being remade! Seriously think of your fav movie in whatever genre and do a google search I bet that shit is getting remade or in the talks of being remade this very second! So naturally I was not surprised that Fright Night was announced as being remade a while back. Really, Fright Night, aside from The Lost Boys is probably the best vampire flick of the 80’s! Even part two is pretty good. So now especially with the super shitty Twilight series getting all the hype and melting the populations brains into the size of rat turds it seems EVERYONE is trying to do a damn vampire movie! So now we’ve gotta sit through all these “sexy”, “erotic” and “mysterious” vampire movies and their ultra dull characters again!!! I get to see one of my fav vampire films get remade….oh the joy of Hollywood.

The Last Stand: Zombies Invading Portland Oregon!
This last Friday I was out at a truely epic Bad Movie Night! Tons of fun was had, lots of junk food eaten, beer drank and cool people! Well aside from seeing two super stinkers as we watched the wretched “Hellgate” starring Horseshack from Welcome Back Kotter as the studly hero of this 5th rate horror flick and Jesse The Body Ventura’s super shitty action sci fi terd Abraxas I learned about a cool new web series being filmed right here in Portland Oregon! It turns out a couple of my buddies even star in it!

Giant Monsters Everywhere!!
Ok so last night I had a little too much to drink at my weekly epic LOST party! Can you blame me? It’s the last damn season of one of the most epic sci fi shows ever! Anyway often times consuming to much alcohol leads to me either being to brain dead to blog of just too damn tired. Well today however being partially brain dead and I will admit a bit on the tired side spent some time on good ol’ You Tube watching endless videos and one that I thought was a blast to share here was Cinemassacre’s 2008 Top Ten Giant Monsters list! Who doesn’t love a giant movie monster?! If you don’t love giant movie monsters you shouldn’t even be on Universal Dork! There’s literally nothing we like better here than a good giant “man in rubber suit” monster gracing the screen. So take a few moments of your time and check out this cool vid-you’ll never guess who takes the number one spot!
Vampires SUCK!
Well the vampire craze has definately gotten out of control again! It seems as if everyone is makin’ a vampire movie these days since the success of the highly over rated crap fest “Twilight”. It really is too bad when a trend which is otherwise pretty dang cool is started by a shitty ass movie! At the least the zombie revival was kicked off by the amazing 28 Days Later. But still I’m a fan of the vampire, even though this year was supposed to be the year of the werewolf it seems to have been derailed by the Wolfman. So vampires are everywhere still and I’m not opposed to that, hell I even got into True Blood.

SPOOKIES!! I Need to See It!
One thing I really hate are region 2 DVDS and super expensive VHS tapes! There are a few movies I’m trying to track down but one in particular that I have never seen is a movie called “Spookies”. This amazingly bad looking creature feature came out in 1986 and as a kid I remember the awesome looking cover at the video stores.
Somehow this one slipped through my fingers, I have never seen it and it has never been released on dvd in the USA. I have been checking ebay but the vhs copies are actually kinda pricey. Anyway I may just have to watch it on Youtube (which can kinda suck) as it seems like the only way I am going to actually view this anytime soon. I suppose too since I have been quite under the weather this week that really wouln’t be such a bad idea? Anyway being a huge fan of 80’s horror and an even bigger fan of a good or bad monster movie this one appears to have all the right ingredients for success! George Romero’s “Survival of the Dead” Trailer released…
The new trailer for George Romero’s new Zombie flick has just been released to the world today-the only question is does anyone really care anymore? I have to be honest the last couple Romero Dead flicks weren’t very good. Land of the Dead was a big let down and I really don’t know too many people who thought it was anything more than passable. Diary of the Dead? Well that one just plain sucked. It made really think that perhaps George was done with the Zombie Genre for good.

Vampire Hunting with Tim Burton & Abraham Lincoln!
It appears that Tim Burton is getting ready to jump on the vampire bandwagon. It’s just been reproted that Burton and Timur Bekmambetov are developing an adaption of Seth Grahame-Smith’s latest novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The novel is the story of Abe Lincoln who over the years becomes an expert axe throwing vampire slayer after his mother is murdered by the undead. It has always been said that Lincoln was a good brawler and this book and now movie are gonna take that to the next level as he delivers some serious smackdown on any blood sucker that dares step in his path.
