Forget Vampires…More Werewolves!

Historically, and most notably in the last couple years, Vampires have been ruling the roost of the classic horror style monsters. From Nosferatu, through the Anne Rice years, and now with True Blood and Twinkle…or Tinkle…or Twilight…(whatever that lame ass 16 year old girl popular vamp series is!!) these blood suckers are just about as popular as Zombies. Don’t get me wrong, there are uber vamp movies out there that I consider bright spots (Blade, Near Dark, and Fright Night). But let’s loose these sad Goth night lovers and I hope I see a new revival of the classic Werewolf! Early 2010 looks to be bringing these furry cursed friends to the big screen in a new and classic way.

Classic Halloween Looney Toons!

When I was a kid I was crazy about Bugs Bunny! To this day many of the cartoons are absolutely hilarious though not the the most PC. Well it’s good to know that I can still watch Bugs Bunny anytime I want thanks to Youtube!

One thing I always loved during Halloween was watching all the cartoons and specials you’d see on tv all month! I came across this amazing Bugs classics today as I combed Youtube for cool halloween specials I used to love as a kid. These cartoons were also featured on a Looney Toons Halloween special back in the 80’s.  It still makes me laugh and brings back a time when all we dreamed of was putting on your costume, trick or treating, eating candy and watching cartoons all night! Sit back and relax because these are halloween classics..

The Fantastic Mr. Fox!

Here’s an upcoming film I can’t wait to see! The Fantastic Mr. Fox is the first stop motion animated film from Wes Anderson and stars most of his favorite stars from his past movies. It’s based on a book by Roald Dahl who’s most popular for writing Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. The trailer looks like a blast and it’s in theaters next month! If by some chance you haven’t seen the trailer check it out!

How Wild Was The Wild Things?

Yesterday I went to see the highly anticpated “Where The Wild Things Are”. I have been so pumped to see this movie (hasn’t everybody been?) since viewing the ultra emotional trailer that for some reason had the power to make grown men and women burst into tears. My friend insists that it’s soley because of the song by the Arcade Fire that accompanies it. So naturally I went into this movie with my expectations pretty high.

Jesus Action figure set!

It’s Sunday and once again there seems to be one thing on alot of people’s minds, Jesus! So when I stumbled across this Jesus action figure commercial I had to post it! I am no stranger to Jesus, heck my family used to go to church every sunday until the monsignor stole like $60,000 from the church and was having an affair with one of my wretched teachers! To make matters worse our church’s address number was 666!! That is the truth too check out that link if you think I am shitting you!  So obviously something was going on there. Don’t you think that when they decided to build the church there they might maybe, well…..consider picking a different space?! Anway check out this Jesus action figure commercial and have a great sunday!

Shatner & The Next Star Trek Movie!

It was a big deal to William Shatner when he heard that the latest Star Trek Film would be featuring Leonard Nimoy returning as Spock but seemingly no Captain Kirk in sight. Shatner appeared angered with JJ Abrams’ decision and claimed he himself brought Kirk back to life in a mere few pages of one of his books, “very easily”. I think it was a great decision to keep the captain in the world of the deceased, especially since he already died In “Generations”. Well as you may have already heard Shatner is back in the spotlights to appear in the second film.

You really didn’t think ol’ Shat would stay out of the picture for long did you? Continue reading

I’ll never forget how cool the Green machine was!!!

When I was a little kid I always  loved big wheels. But what I wanted even more was The Green Machine!!! I remember all the cool kids had ’em and while I was riding around on my big wheel the other kids were doing circles around me in their Green Machines!! For some reason I was never able to get one. I think they were a little more pricey at the time or maybe it was because of how many cool ass dangerous moves you could pull off on one these puppies that made my parents fear this amazing vehicle! Anyway I ran across the commercial for it and the envious memories flooded back into my mind. Well now that I am older who’s to say you won’t see me finally cruisin’ the streets on my own Green Machine?!

2012…Stripped of its “Essentials”?

One part I really enjoy when I go to the movies are the trailers…who doesn’t love to see what next on the agenda! And typically, they pick trailers that fit the style of movie you are seeing…even better! So when I went to see Zombieland, one trailer that stuck out was the one for 2012. My thoughts right afterward…”wow, when did they decide to make The Day After Tomorrow 2?”, and then “why would they ever make The Day After Tomorrow2?” Alright, all kidding aside, the trailer is laughable, but in the world of special effects, it is beautiful and amazing. But then my mind wandered…what if we lived in a world that did not have special effects, and we had to rely on props and acting alone? Just remember, you were warned!

Bryan Singer gets the Itch for X-Men Again!

Today I just read some rumors going around that Bryan Singer may be in talks to direct another X-men or X-men related movie! I hope that these rumors turn out to be a reality because  X-men 3  and Wolverine were less than impressive movies. It actually made me mad when I heard Singer bowed out of X-men 3 to make Superman Returns. Really you choose Superman over the X-Men?!! Are you mad?!! Then I became even more upset when I heard he turned down the solo Wolverine movie, which had to easily be one of the worst superhero movies ever made. I personally rather melt my brain by wacthing the wretched Nick Cage “Ghost Rider” than sit through the steaming terd that Wolverine was.
