Hugo Weaving = The Red Skull!

The rumors are flying that the Red Skull has potentially been cast! But these seem a little more so confirmed than just rumors as Hugo Weaving is in serious talks to play the iconic super villain in the upcoming Captain America movie. It seems that several sources tonight have reported that Weaving will don the red skull upon his head. this is what The Hollywood Reporter had to say about it:

“The dealmaking with Weaving is in a delicate stage that will play out in the next day Continue reading

SPOOKIES!! I Need to See It!

One thing I really hate are region 2 DVDS and super expensive VHS tapes! There are a few movies I’m trying to track down but one in particular that I have never seen is a movie called “Spookies”. This amazingly bad looking creature feature came out in 1986 and as a kid I remember the awesome looking cover at the video stores.

Somehow this one slipped through my fingers, I have never seen it and it has never been released on dvd in the USA. I have been checking ebay but the vhs copies are actually kinda pricey. Anyway I may just have to watch it on Youtube (which can kinda suck) as it seems like the only way I am going to actually view this anytime soon. I suppose too since I have been quite under the weather this week that really wouln’t be such a bad idea? Anyway being a huge fan of 80’s horror and an even bigger fan of a good or bad monster movie this one appears to have all the right ingredients for success! Check out the trailer for this and if you have a spare copy let me know!!

R.I.P. Corey….

Wow. This morning I was totally shocked when I got up and heard the news that Corey Haim had died just a couple hours ago. It really shouldn’t be that shocking though since all of his drug related problems right? He seemed like one of the most troubled former child actors out there yet still it shocked me as I felt a small part of my childhood die as well.

Corey Haim may have not been taken too seriously over the last 20 years but there was a time when he starred in some of the coolest movies of the 80’s. Obviously The Lost Boys was a great movie that may go down in history as the BEST vampire movie ever made. But Corey also starred in many other awesome movies that still today bring back fond memories of the 80’s and deserve a second, third or fourth veiwing in his honor. Here are a few of my faves some of them seem relatively forgotten by alot of people….

Firstborn was one of Corey’s first movies Continue reading

More Captain America News and New Tron: Legacy Trailer!

Well some people seemed to think that “The Office” star John Krasinski would be perfect cast as Captain America. I’m not quite sure if it was just because of his appeal from the show, his quirkiness or his acting chops. For me, though he seemed a familiar face and a funny guy just really couldn’t see him as Cap. So today I was a bit relieved when it was officially decided today that he is NOT going to be wielding the shield. For me I will take a sigh of relief. Really he’s the least douchey of all the candidates-so in the end perhaps who knows, maybe he would have been the best choice?

But for now I have faith they will choose someone who screams “Cap” a little more. I heard as well that Chris Evans who played The Human Torch in the god-awful Fantastic Four flicks was up for the role as well now.  Personally I’m holding out for my first pic  “Tron Legacy” star Garrett Hedlund to snatch the role! I mean he’s in the Tron sequel with Jeff Bridges!! Oh yeah the new trailer for Tron:Legacy was also released-check it out here!

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble…eh..kinda..The most Un-Epic Cartoon Brawls! Part 1

So I’ve put up some pretty epic cartoon fights lately, at least I think so! I’ve several more planned to post up here as well to get the adrenaline pumping too. But what about those totally un-epic cartoon battles??

Well look no further because now I’m on a mission to bring you some of the most god awful cartoon brawls I can find! Believe me there are alot of them! So first we’ll start with a pretty crap-tastic cartoon battle between Spider-man, Electro, the Green Goblin and The Vulture! This sounds like a dream battle huh? Well get ready to be severly unimpressed with this ridiculous 4 way snooze fest! Good thing Spidey mastered ventriloquism!

The Hulk Wrecks Mount Rushmore!

This wednesday I’ll be running to the comic book shop to catch up on some missed titles as I haven’t been religiously going there weekly for quite sometime. This of course has been a huge bummer and as many Americans are feeling the effects of a very poor economy I have also accepted the fact that I can’t really afford to blow a ton of money every week on a stack of comics like I used to. At some point I am sure things will be back to normal, but in the meantime I am being pretty selective with what I have been picking up. Many times missing out on storylines I have started.

Well as you may know I’m a big Incredible Hulk fanatic and as I have been pretty into the “Fall of the Hulks” storyline I ended up missing a few key issues leaving me thinking to just wait for the trade paperback. However I am pretty pumped about the Incredible Hulk one shot coming out this week, Hulk : Let The Battle Begin, which pits ol jade jaws up against one of my all time favorite supervillain teams of all time-The Wrecking Crew!

George Romero’s “Survival of the Dead” Trailer released…

The new trailer for George Romero’s new Zombie flick has just been released to the world today-the only question is does anyone really care anymore? I have to be honest the last couple Romero Dead flicks weren’t very good. Land of the Dead was a big let down and I really don’t know too many people who thought it was anything more than passable. Diary of the Dead? Well that one just plain sucked. It made really think that perhaps George was done with the Zombie Genre for good.

Well that was definately not the case as we now have “Survival of the Dead” Continue reading

Vampire Hunting with Tim Burton & Abraham Lincoln!

It appears that Tim Burton is getting ready to jump on the vampire bandwagon. It’s just been reproted that Burton and Timur Bekmambetov are developing an adaption of  Seth Grahame-Smith’s latest novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The novel is the story of Abe Lincoln who over the years becomes an expert axe throwing vampire slayer after his mother is murdered by the undead. It has always been said that Lincoln was a good brawler and this book and now movie are gonna take that to the next level as he delivers some serious smackdown on any blood sucker that dares step in his path.

Burton and Bekmambetov also teamed up Continue reading

Let’s Get Ready To Rumble! The Greatest Cartoon Brawls Part 5!!

Ok well I am not really sure if anyone really gives two shits about cartoon brawls but I’m keeping up this thread cuz I do! Hey when you’re bored you’ll search for just about anything on You Tube right? Well when you mention a cartoon fight there’s one character who definateley likes to get rowdy-Popeye! Popeye has kicked so much ass in his time it’s absolutely unbelievable! He’s been doing it for decades!

Pratically ALL ol’ Pops does is kick ass every day of his life! He deals with alot of B.S. contantly from Brutus and constantly keeps giving him chances to prove himself to not be a total douche but ends up having to waste him literally almost every day of his damn life! So let’s take a quick look at a good video which compiles some good ass whoopings delivered by Mr. Eye himself!!

Luke Cage Leads The Avengers!

Well it’s really not that big of a suprise that Luke Cage will be back in the ranks of the Avengers again now is it? It’s time it seems for a revamp on the Avengers titles once again by Mr. Bendis. Maybe this time we’ll get an amazing run with top notch writing and art  like “Disassembled” or the first New Avengers arc “Break Out” both which blew my mind! I am actually pretty excited about a relaunch here-to start fresh so to say. I missed out on alot of the Avengers business as when Secret Invasion kicked in I soon lost interest in the story line and title.

This marks the new beginnings of  The Avengers, New Avengers and Secret Avengers. Continue reading
