The Greatest KILLER Scarecrow Flick of ALL Time!!
I have to give some major props to the BEST imo EVIL killer scarecrow film of all time, NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW (1995)! This ambitious supernatural slasher really goes the gory distance with its ridiculous characters, top notch special fx & super well done gore. I also have to talk about SCARECROWS (1988) which is also one of the best of the genre, even though some people find it underwhelming and dull-I think it’s a total banger What do you think is the best killer scarecrow flick? Let me know!
Craziest Horror Movie Plot of ALL time: THE JOHNSONS (1992) is a Bizarre Family Affair!
Today we talk about some obscure horror films of the Netherlands and in particular 1992’s THE JOHNSONS! This totally bonkers Dutch horror flick has one of the most convoluted over the top plots of ANY horror film to date! A true forgotten bizarre gem that’s just begging for a sweet blu ray release jam packed with colorful characters, cool fx, piles of garbage, seven killer test tube babies and “menstrual horror” served up only the the way the Dutch can cook it all up!

Today U-Dork covers the ultimate “John Hughes” HORROR flick! From 1989 comes this “trapped on VHS” gem, NIGHT LIFE, one of the best genre mash ups of all time and one of the most unique little teen horror rom coms of all time! This sweet but nasty lil’ gem stars 80s teen heart throb SCOTT GRIMES of CRITTERS fame and a gang of vicious teen bully ZOMBIES who not only wanna eat his flesh but also ruin his love life!! Jam packed with rad practical fx, lotsa gore and ALL the 80s charm this film is totally ripe for the pickin’ to receive a totally def blu ray release from whatever label wants to rule the school of lost but bad ass 1980s horror cult classics!
The 90’s Cartoon House Cat Horror of FELIDAE & the BEST Animated Films of ALL Time!

An insane animated horror film with house cats trying to solve a string of murders and fend off an evil CULT! Terror in the Outback: ‘FORTRESS’ is 1980s Ozploitation Perfection!
Today we cover one the coolest 1980s Aussie films around that deserves WAY more praise here in the the USA! Yeah- the relatively forgotten genre mash up, FORTRESS from 1985, hits ALL the right beats and features the beautiful Rachel Ward in one of the her finest roles. Part action, part adventure, part kids in danger “Amblin” style & part horror film, this one’s filled with twists and turns & features one of my favorite shocker endings of 1980s cult cinema! Trapped on VHS and just waiting to be cleaned up for fancy ass blu ray-we’re going to the “land down under” to talk about it all today!
Hong Hong’s Most Outrageous 90s Kung Fu Horror Sex Comedy?!
The most bizarre genre mash up of all time comes straight out of Hong Kong where we see Lam Ching Ying AKA “Mr. Vampire” embark on one of his wildest adventures of his whole damn career as an ass kicking ghostbuster! The Wizard’s Curse from 1992 is a film that you will blow your undies right off your heiny and get you in the mood for love and supernatural martial arts mayhem! One of my favorite Hong Kong horror comedies of all time gets sexy and needs a blu ray badly!! Check this bonkers highly under-seen gem out!!
Has Cobra Kai Become a Karate Kid PARODY?! Plus Will Hilary Swank Join the Season Six FINALE?!
I’m a huge OG Karate Kid fan all the way back from seeing it in 1984!! Here’s my thoughts as an old school fan of the beloved 80’s franchise, now, looking back at SIX seasons of Cobra Kai! PLUS my thoughts on the 1994 controversial film THE NEXT KARATE KID with Hilary Swank and how they must complete the “Miyagi-verse” by putting Julie Pierce in the FINAL episodes of the series!! What do YOU think? I’m curious what fans of the original think of the direction and tone of the series and exactly how you think it might end up!
HP Lovecraft Inspiration!! The New HELLBOY Film & the 90s NECRONOMICON!!
I’ve been in a bit HP Lovecraft land as of late, watching some pretty cool old and new stuff inspired by the iconic horror writer. As a HUGE fan of the Hellboy comic books as well as the Guillermo del Toro films, (which I do really love but never felt like a true representation go the source material) I was indeed totally skeptical of the latest film. Hellboy: The Crooked Man arrived on the scene and didn’t garner much attention, however I recently gave it a shot and surprisingly here’s my review in one of my latest YouTube vids:
Then I delved deep on Halloween into possibly the BEST horror anthology of the 1990s-NECRONOMICON which like the Hellboy stuff was more than inspired by Lovecraft but based on three of his stories and the result were quite impressive check that out right here:
BREATHING FIRE (1991): Ke Huy Quan vs Bolo Yeung?!!
Today I’ve got a brand new YouTube vid about one of my favorite teen action martial arts flicks of the 1990’s or maybe EVER?! Yeah BREATHING FIRE from 1991 has most definitely got ALL the right moves and feature Ke Huy Quan in one of his most outrageous roles of his career by far!
This film has somehow slipped real far under the radar despite it’s countless generic dvd releases over the decades. It also features the villainous icon BOLO Yeung doing what de does best-whooping’ people’s asses!
If you’re a fan of Temple of Doom or The Goonies or Everything Everywhere All at Once you’ve got to check this one out, we cover all things Ke Quan and go deep into the film itself! So get ready for ultimate nostalgia blast and check out our podcast dedicated to Huy and of course the movie I’m most hoping will get a release on blu ray from the likes of Vinegar Syndrome-Breathing Fire! CHECK IT OUT!
THE BOY’S NIGHT OUT: My 80s Wisconsin Teen Horror Flick on VHS & Youtube!!
So the time has finally come, I just officially released my 1989 teen horror film on VHS, a co-release with Black VVideo. This little 34 minute film was a huge part of my teenage years growing up in The Fox Valley, Wisconsin and I’ve had the film on a lone VHS for 35 years. So I finally edited the original footage, and even grabbed a camcorder last summer and filmed a some bonus footage to tie the narrative as tightly together as I could. So now it’s come full circle after all these years, it’s really a time capsule of teenage life in the midwest during the tail end of the 1980s. It tells the story of two “nerds” who are transformed into supernatural killers and exact revenge upon a gang of fellow bully classmates who’d finally pushed the bloody envelope way too far.
I’m pumped to add this to the catalogue of SOV horror films and the small gang of backyard teen films of the 1980s officially. So the VHS is out and can be found right HERE to purchase or you can check it out right now on the new U-Dork YouTube channel if you don’t have a working VCR.
Either way it’s a little accomplishment I’m quite proud to share with everyone after all these years-The Boy’s Night Out has arisen from the muck of the toxic pond waters of Wisconsin’s most wretched rock quarries and haunted forests! Check it out!!
