These Ass Kicking Jeans Must Be Mine!

I have been on a hunt for new pants for myself for quite a while-and now I know 100% now that I have to track down a pair of these awesome Chuck Norris Action Slacks!! I’m a big fan of vintage clothing in fact I own a vintage clothing store here in Portland Oregon called “Hollywood Babylon”- well how’s that for shameless self promotion? I just began today officially searching for a vintage pair of these for myself because well who doesn’t want to kick ass like ol’ Chuck?

I remember seeing ads for these pants back in the 80’s when I was a kid and I always thought they were funny but today I guess it really dawned on me that they are actually super fly! Look closely at the crotch as they have a super stretchy area so that you can kick really high and not split your pants. Well I tell you only Norris could come up with something like these for the public. I bet too that it hurt like hell back then to be kicked in the face with those bad ass cowboy boots he’s always wearing too! So yeah I will find a pair-I will keep you posted!!

Step Aside Nerdcore Rappers and Make Some Room for Lisel!

I love the Nerdcore genre of hip hop! Geez I wonder why huh? Well check out this clip from the yet unreleased short film “Writing Lyrics”. It’s a pretty amazing rap that’s sure to put a smile on any dorks dice rollin’ face. There’s really not too much info out there on this film or it’s story (all I really know is it’s about a LARPin’ rapper who feels out of place in world), but judging from this clip alone it’s bound to be a lot of fun. “Lisel” in the clip is a Portlander here and recently mentioned to me that she’s planning to start kicking out the jams again this year-I guess we’ll see if she continues rapping about multi sided dice & LARPing (I hope so) but in the meantime keep your eyes peeled for more info about the film-hopefully it will someday be released….

Khan Gets Down in the Dancehall!

The time has come once again to shamelessly self promote myself! Hey somebody has got to do it – anyway I just posted my youtube slide show for the “Wrath of Khan” a song by Mister Saturday. It’s a reggae dancehall retelling of the history of Khan Noonien Singh, the greatest Star Trek foe of all time.

For a while this was the theme song for the Official Star Trek convention’s Myspace page. Remember that website? Me neither really…anyway sit back light one up, pour yourself a glass of ice cold Andorian ale and check out this track from the world first and only nerdcore dancehall artist…

Conservative Undead Punks: Always a Laugh!

Today I was listening to some Misfits on my ipod while walking to work and a song came on by the 90’s version of the band fronted by Michale Graves. Now I have gotta be honest I actually like this version of the band! I have taken some shit over this over the years but you know what? I don’t care dammit! I feel that in comparison to the newest version of the Misfits with Jerry Only fronting the band it sounds damn near classic!!

Seriously Jerry Only and his new ‘Fits (Dez Cadena and some dude named Chupacabra Man or something) just released a new album called “The Devil’s Rain” and yeah it totally blows…It makes you miss Danzig in a big way-but the thing about it is that now 12 years later it’s making people miss Graves too. Anyway I digress, because hearing the Graves Misfits today made me think back to a segment to an episode of the Daily Show about him and his conservative punk views-which he also got a lot of shit for. Now I am far far from conservative, but you gotta love an undead punk who’s got a sense of humor about his views if you’ve never seen this check it out it’s pretty rad…

The Enemy Within: Hardcore Spacehall

It’s that time of the year that dedicated to shameless self promotion-so here’s a track for all of you trekkies based on the legendary Star Trek episode “The Enemy Within”. Mister Saturday is the world’s first reggae/dancehall nerdcore artist as they’ve been calling it. This time teaming up with inter galactic sensation Ensly Mogul.

There’s new music on the way on a live show coming soon-in the meantime check these out! Download this track for free here!

The Caps: A Feel Good 70’s Sitcom Set to Music…

I recently was given  a complimentary copy of  the new album “Have a Blast”, by Portland Oregon’s “The Caps” and it’s had me smiling ever since the first listen. These guys have been around for just a few years now releasing their second album with a new line up save James Hall the bands original drummer who recently rejoined and singer/guitarist Chris Worth. On “Have a Blast” they are back with eleven of the catchiest pop songs you’re likely to hear in 2011. Like a three way battle between Belle & Sebastian, Superchunk and The Beach Boys dashed with slightly off humor reminiscent of They Might Be Giants, The Caps manage to bring the rock while still maintaining a soft side you could be sipping champagne to while reading back issues of Mad Magazine.

The songs now, with lead vocals almost evenly split between Worth and new guitarist Andrew Grimaldo, are filled with humor you’re either going to get or quite possibly fly right over your head leaving you wondering if these guys are really taking themselves seriously. A song like “Bike City” could practically be Portland’s anthem here as one of the most bike-centric cities in America Continue reading

Lady Gaga: The Mutant Spawn of Pinball’s CENTAUR!!

Ok well I just had to share this little bit of incredible info with everyone out there! I have figured out exactly where Lady Gaga comes from! Some people think that she’s from outer space and is an alien-CRAZY huh? No actually right on target! First off I have to say if any of you out there think Lady Gaga’s new album cover for “Born This Way” is original you all need to wake the hell up!

It’s totally clear what the hell has happened here ! If you are unaware of the 1981 Bally pinball game Centaur then you know where this is headed… Continue reading

World’s Greatest Horror Themed Music Videos! Fat Boys!

It’s been a while since I have posted any new horror themed music videos, quite simply because I thought I had them all covered-well I was dead wrong! It suddenly dawned upon me that The Fresh Prince was not the only one who rapped about Freddy Kruger back in the 1980’s – we also had “Are You Ready for Freddy?” by hip hop pioneers The Fat Boys! Check out this classic video! I have also heard that the Fat Boys are back at it again, with Doug E. Fresh replacing the late great Buff Love , The Human Beatbox (rip), gearing up to do some recording and touring!

World’s Greatest Puppet Themed Music Videos are Back!

Hey it’s been a while since I posted any new Puppet Themed music vids as I have been trying to prove once and for all that puppets make ANYTHING like 10 times better! Seriously if you are in a band and wanna make a bitchin’ video but can’t think of  anything rad to do in it-worry no further-just put some damn puppets in it and you got yourself  a hit! So here’s yet another video by  Dinosaur Jr covering the cure and yeah it rules and it loaded with puppets! Thus enhancing it’s greatness by at least 10 fold!
