George Clooney as Wolverine!
Who would have known that George Clooney was such a HUGE Wolverine fan?!! It seems he’s so hyped about the film that he’s been seen and photographed several times in this Wolverine costume around town. Perhaps he’s just jealous of Hugh Jackman? Or maybe just losing his mind? Maybe he wants to star in the sequel? Whatever the reason it’s clear he’s a TOTAL fanboy!!!
George Clooney is definately seeing Wolverine today!!
Why have i not seen “dead heat” before???!
Last night I watched “Dead Heat” for the first time ever and I must say it was pretty damn rad! I really can’t beleive I have never seen it before. It stars Treat Williams and Joe Piscopo of Saturday Night Live fame. It’s basically an awesome 80’s buddy cop movie with zombies and some cool monsters. It’s premise is simple, someone is reanimating dead people from the morgue and using them as zombie criminals. Then it’s up to Treat and Piscopo, who serves as the poor man’s Mel Gibson, to get to the bottom of all this funny business. It’s got some really original scenes as well, such as zombies using machine guns and the restaurant kitchen scene where everything from fried chicken, to liver and a side of beef become enraged killing machines! It was a nice surprise to see an actual flick from the 80’s I had never seen before that really delivered the goods! So if you find yourself at the local video store craving something totally campy and highly entertaining check out this classic from 1987!!

The Quay Brothers – Best Stop Motion animation ever…
If for some reason you have never heard of the Quay Brothers you really have to check this and everything they have done out! They have produced probably the most bizarre stop motion animation peices ever caught on film. I know everyone thinks “The Nightmare Before Christmas” was unique-but seriously these guys are the masters. The only way I can really describe their work is that is is truely nightmaric and beautiful at the same time. I beleive Tool had a video that was heavily based on their work. Anyway I have just gotten a Quay Brothers collection in the mail and thought that every one should know who these guys are if for some reason you have not already heard of them. Check this stuff out. It’s truely amazing!!!
‘Machete’ is on the way finally!!! PLUS more PREDATORS, MINUS ARNOLD….
Remember all those rad trailers at the beginning of Tarantino & Rodriguez’s “Grindhouse” double feature in 2007? Well I have just heard that filming for the “Machete” movie, based on the amazing fake trailer shown before the double feature is going to officially start filming in June in Austin, Texas. With Robert Rodriguez writing, directing and producing this one it’s sure to be another amazing, completely over the top film. Machete, a film about the blade- wielding antihero, features the legendary Danny Trejo as the title charcter. A Mexican ex-Federale with a knack for chopping up bad guys like sushi, masquerading as a day laborer, who’s double-crossed by a corrupt state senator.
GO RENT THIS TONIGHT!!
Hey yesterday I forgot to post the trailer to “The Burrowers”, a new western monster movie, which comes out on dvd today. There has been alot of hype on this one….
Are you craving a good monster movie??
I must say as far as horror movies go I am a HUGE fan of monster movies!! So any time I see a good one I want to make sure I get the word out there about it. I finally got to see “Splinter” which i somehow missed the first time around when it played in town here last year. Well last tuesday it was released on dvd and I made sure to pick it up! If I would have caught this one in the theater it would have most definaltely made it into my top 10 horror flicks of 2008 list I did a while back.

THE BEST KUNG FU MOVIE EVER.
What? You have never seen ‘The Crippled Masters’? This movie popped into my head this morning for some strange reason and it led me on a search for it on ebay. I remember seeing this amazing flick at like midnight, on Kung Fu Theater (which used to show every friday night in the 80’s when I lived in Milwaukee Wisconsin) when I was a kid and being completely blown away. I guarantee you’ve never see anything quite like this before. I owned this a few years back on vhs but somehow lost it in my move to Oregon. It’s a true rare kung fu classic. One I can only imagine is loved dearly by the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Go hunt this down as soon as possible and get ready to view kung fu movies in a whole new light!!
Will there be a little shatner in the new STAR TREK MOTION PICTURE?
I am sooooo pumped about the new Star Trek movie! Only weeks away now! I have the highest hopes that it is going to blow my mind. I am super pleased with the costumes as they look VERY similar to the original series and so far I am totally into the official Star Trek prequel comic book that has been coming out. I love the fact that it follows the continuity of the movies and features Nimoy returning as an older Spock! Hell I even loved the fact that they wouldn’t let Shatner return as Kirk in this movie since he officially died in Star trek “Generations”. I am very happy with the decision of Zachary Quinto as Spock but what worries me most of all is the portrayal of James T. Kirk in this new revamp.

Woody Harrelson: Real life zombie slayer!!!
According to CNN Friday night Woody Harrelson attacked a paparazzo claiming he thought he was a zombie!!! How amazing is that? Apparently the original natural born killer was leaving a New York airport with his daughter when he was being followed by a TMZ photpgrapher. This is when he went straight into Zombie Slayer mode and attacked the photographer punching him in the face and wrestling with him.

Above pictured is Woody and pictured below him the man he identified as the alleged paparazzi pursuer.
hopefully “Kick-ass” the movie will kick ass!!
I knew it wouldn’t be long before Kick-Ass, Marvel’s Icon Imprint Line comic book sensation was made into a movie. Kick-Ass is easily one the BEST comic books to have graced our shelves in the past five years and coming from Ultimates writer Mark Millar I would expect nothing less. Even though this comic seems to have a real hard time coming out on time and takes about five minutes to read it’s always worth the wait. If you haven’t checked this out already you need to get your booty down to the comic shop and pick up the first five issues. I promise you WON’T be disappointed.
