Never Forget The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu!
Do you remember The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu?! Well I thought it’d be cool mention this old comic book magazine put out by Magazine Management Company, which was a part of Marvel Comics way back in the mid to late 1970’s primarily because of how amazing their covers were! Back during this time comic book magazines were quite popular and I was a big fan of The Rampaging Hulk magazine as well. Well The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu gathered Marvel’s most fierce martial arts superheroes in some crazy adventures as well as Kung Fu movie reviews and often time interviews with real life martial artists. Man looking at these incredible covers really makes me want to see a Shang Chi flick sometime soon! Check these out and imagine these on news stands during a time when the kung fu craze was in full effect!

Let’s Appreciate Bill Sienkiewicz on his Birthday!
Today is Bill Sienkiewicz’s Birthday and it’s as good a reason as any to celebrate the man’s existence as one of the best comic book artists of all time! To say his artwork is unique would probably be the biggest understatement you could come up with in the comic book universe. His jagged, frantic and often abstract work is unmistakable. Whenever you’d get a comic book cover or let alone an entire issue filled with his artwork you always knew you were in for a treat.

His work became a staple in the early 80’s where he drew black and white back up stories of Moon Knight in The Incredible Hulk magazine size comic books. He continued on with some of his most famous work for titles like The New Mutants and the legendary Elektra: Assassin miniseries amongst many others. So happy birthday Bill! Thanks for the incredibly original art all these years-Here’s hoping for much more of it in 2014! Here are a few of my personal favorite pieces of his comic book art!

Iron Fist Hits the Small Screen!
I would love to see Iron Fist, Marvel’s resident kung fu expert hit the big time and get a movie made about him with a ton of kick ass over the top martial arts action! However as of right now I don’t think there are any real solid plans to bring Danny Rand into theaters.
If they did though it’d be great to see his old buddy Power-Man or just simply Luke Cage (as he apparently thought his yellow & blue costume and name weren’t cool anymore) in the same movie. There have been a lot of rumours about a Cage movie coming to fruition but without Iron Fist I just don’t think it’d be as cool. Perhaps it’d simply be called Heroes for Hire? In the meantime though we can all try and enjoy this fan made Iron Fist movie, which kinda plays like a real life superhero adventure, I almost expected to see Phoenix Jones pop out and help Rand and Elektra….what do you think of this fan made short? Who would make the perfect Danny Rand in a big screen movie?
