The Scariest Movie Of all time?
I have recently been hearing alot of hype behind one particular movie, “Paranormal Activity”. This movie has been dubbed by Bloodydigusting.com as “the scariest movie of all time”. That is a bold statement coming from one of the best horror/sci-fi websites around! Many more as well are praising this movie and I, being a big fan of a good ghost flick can’t wait to see if it lives up to all the hype!
To me it’s looking quite a bit like 2009’s version of the Blair Witch Project. This is not really a bad thing, even though I had never really beleived that The Blair Witch Project lived up it’s massive amount of hype. Anyway here’s a brand new trailer for the film. To me thus far it doesn’t look that frightening but I have also read that to really understand just how damn freaky this movie is you HAVE to see it in the theater. Movies about ghosts, demons, and hauntings are the scariest to me, if they’re done well and are believable – subtle and not over the top. For example, the Discovery Channel docudrama version of A Haunting in Connecticut was way scarier to me than the actual movie. So I want to like this “Paranormal Activity” flick; Im just a little wary of the “Blair Witch”-esque marketing and all the “This is the scariest movie of all time” stuff. Taken on its own, I didn’t think “The Blair Witch Project” film was scary, although as a component in the multimedia extravaganza that it was, with the TV faux-documentary and the website and the book, I thought it was pretty fucking scary.
I always thought that they should have waited to reveal that the Blair witch project was fake until after the opening weekend. Then that shit would have seriously freaked me out!!!
