• Remember when Woody Harrelson attacked that papparazzi guy and then said that it was because he thought that dude was a zombie? Well the official trailer for the movie he was filming, Zombieland, can finally be seen! As far as zombie movies go I have said before that they’ve been beat pretty heavily into the dirt since the arrival of “28 Days Later” which started the whole craze like never before years ago. Hey we got some good zombie flicks since then haven’t we? I guess also you could say “Shaun of the Dead” really got the Zombie Horror back on the map as well. Well judging from the new trailer for “Zombieland” it seems very possible maybe Hollywood has at least one last cool horror comedy left in them!

Yeah Zombieland looks fun as hell from the trailer and it also features Jesse Eisenberg as well in his second movie involving running around theme parks. Check out this out and find out what exactly made ol’ Woody into a real life slayer of the living dead!

  • Hey I had this video up on my myspace page for quite sometime but I thought I would post it here too. I play D&D every Sunday evening and right now I’m currently the DM. This game however I was just a player character. Sometimes we dress up for our games, play by candle light in the basment, all have special voices and we have alot of fun! Here’s a clip from one of our games. Check this out!

  • It really surprises me how many people have never read or for that matter even heard of the awesome 1987 comic book Deadworld! This is a great apocolyptic zombie tale that follows a group of Teens traveling in a school bus cross country on the run from the undead. There is a twist though, a group of zombies have gained human intellegence and this gang rides around on Harleys, speak their mind and are led by a bad ass undead biker named “King Zombie” who’s determined  to open the gateway to Hell on Earth!

  • Being a big horror fan I always looking forward to possible awesome new movies! So right now here the ones I have been hearing the most about that look pretty promising. I doubt most of these will have a theatrical release here but that just means that they’ll probably be that much better than most of the movies passing in the theaters today as horror. Check out these trailers:

“Trick R’ Treat” is supposed to be an awesome throwback to movies like “Creepshow” that had several creepy tales in one movie. This is something that most movies today can’t seem to get right. I’ve heard alot of great things about this one across the board! It’s coming out sometime in October…

  • Today, Marvel comics announced the return of one of their most iconic characters (one of comicdoms most iconic…), Steve Rogers.

This coincided with the release of Captain America #600. The weeks leading up to this have been full of speculation as to what the earth-shattering reveal is that will lead up to the Captain America: Reborn series. Marvel’s press release can be found here.

Predictably, the ever-fickle comic public has taken to the internet to complain endlessly about this. It appears that many fans are assuming that this marks the end of Bucky as Captain America which I am seriously doubting. Personally, I think that it’s silly to whine about anything Ed Brubaker does during his run because I’m sure that Steve’s reintegration into the Marvel Universe will be as exciting and suspenseful as the Winter Solider’s redemption and development as a true Captain America. Unless Brubaker’s hands were forced by editorial decisions by Marvel, I am certain that this will be another great chapter in what may go down as the most acclaimed run on the character, ever.

What are your thoughts on this announcement?

  • Recently my roomate got the new X-men Origins: Wolverine video game for Xbox. It is supposedly based on the movie, so I assumed it would be an ultra time wasting crap-fest. But to my surprise I was totally WRONG! In fact I would say if anyone wanted to know just how bad ass Hugh Jackman could have been as Wolverine they need to check out this game. The opening of this game is true Wolverine. The way he should have been done in the movie(s). It’s voiced by Jackman as well and believe me this game is bloody and brutal. The way Wolvie really is. When Wolverine uses his claws people bleed. Alot. I have a feeling this game was made because people knew just how truely shitty the movie was going to be. If you thought the Wolerine movie was good you need to see this cuz by the time it’s over you’ll remember what Wolverine is supposed to be like. So if you have not played this game yet, at the very least check out the opening sequence now-it makes me realize just how god damn cool the movie coulda’ shoulda’ been…

  • So my last blog post mentioned two other cartoon series that the Thundercats creators also put out in the 80’s-The Silverhawks & The Tigersharks (are you noticing a trend in the naming of the cartoons yet). So Silverhawks was the space version of  Thundercats and the even lesser known Tigersharks was the water version! Neither of them had the success of the Thundercats but they were both equally awesome. The animation was once again top notch and the characters were just as cool(well mostly). I love the hillbilly Siverhawk “Bluegrass” too-he’s play guitar and is just plain rad. The Silverhawks also had a cool toy line and the first season is available on dvd!!

The Tigersharks only lasted one season but you know what? I always thought it was still pretty damn rad! The show took place on the world of Water-O, which was covered completely by water(who would have figured huh?). The planet had a race of fish people called the Waterians(water, water, more water!!) . The TigerSharks arrived there on a research mission but ended up serving as the protectors of the planet against the bastardly T-Ray! They need to release that on dvd soon too- check these intros out from the show!

    The Silverhawks!!

  • The Thundercats were probably one of the coolest cartoons of the 1980’s hands down! For one it had amazing animation (especially for being a regular after school cartoon) which seeemed to be a step above the rest. Secondly it also produced some pretty amazing action figures and a Marvel comic book too! The creators of the Thundercats also made a couple other less popular cartoon series that were equally great, The Silver Hawks and The Tiger Sharks(check them both out sometime if you haven’t already).

So I heard a couple years back they were supposed to make a movie of the Thundercats, so naturally I searched on Youtube for any teasers or random info. What I found instead was a pretty impressive fan made trailer! The scenes are obviously strung together from different movies and someone has oviously used some CG to make Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and Vin Diesel look exactly like the Thundercats. Hey I just wanted to share this for anyThundercats fans out there-it looks like a live action Thundercats movie could be pretty darn cool. From what I understand however it seems the movie that is currently in production will be an all CG cartoon version slated for release sometime in 2010.

  • Hmmm…the return of the heroes reborn Bucky, Rikki Barnes? Captain America #600 may not be what we think at all judging from this teaser poster…

  • Just the other evening I posted a couple videos up here about some really awesome deep sea creatures. I was doing a little more research on the whole topic and decided to check out some videos of the Anglerfish. Wow, they are pretty damn creepy fish I must say! After viewing this particular video of an Anglerfish I thought I was onto something BIG!
