• It was a big deal to William Shatner when he heard that the latest Star Trek Film would be featuring Leonard Nimoy returning as Spock but seemingly no Captain Kirk in sight. Shatner appeared angered with JJ Abrams’ decision and claimed he himself brought Kirk back to life in a mere few pages of one of his books, “very easily”. I think it was a great decision to keep the captain in the world of the deceased, especially since he already died In “Generations”. Well as you may have already heard Shatner is back in the spotlights to appear in the second film.

  • When I was a little kid I always  loved big wheels. But what I wanted even more was The Green Machine!!! I remember all the cool kids had ’em and while I was riding around on my big wheel the other kids were doing circles around me in their Green Machines!! For some reason I was never able to get one. I think they were a little more pricey at the time or maybe it was because of how many cool ass dangerous moves you could pull off on one these puppies that made my parents fear this amazing vehicle! Anyway I ran across the commercial for it and the envious memories flooded back into my mind. Well now that I am older who’s to say you won’t see me finally cruisin’ the streets on my own Green Machine?!

  • One part I really enjoy when I go to the movies are the trailers…who doesn’t love to see what next on the agenda! And typically, they pick trailers that fit the style of movie you are seeing…even better! So when I went to see Zombieland, one trailer that stuck out was the one for 2012. My thoughts right afterward…”wow, when did they decide to make The Day After Tomorrow 2?”, and then “why would they ever make The Day After Tomorrow2?” Alright, all kidding aside, the trailer is laughable, but in the world of special effects, it is beautiful and amazing. But then my mind wandered…what if we lived in a world that did not have special effects, and we had to rely on props and acting alone? Just remember, you were warned!

  • Today I just read some rumors going around that Bryan Singer may be in talks to direct another X-men or X-men related movie! I hope that these rumors turn out to be a reality because  X-men 3  and Wolverine were less than impressive movies. It actually made me mad when I heard Singer bowed out of X-men 3 to make Superman Returns. Really you choose Superman over the X-Men?!! Are you mad?!! Then I became even more upset when I heard he turned down the solo Wolverine movie, which had to easily be one of the worst superhero movies ever made. I personally rather melt my brain by wacthing the wretched Nick Cage “Ghost Rider” than sit through the steaming terd that Wolverine was.

  • It was a few months ago that I posted a blog called “Four horror flicks you didn’t know you were excited for“. One of the films I featured was a movie from the UK called “The Children”. Well it finally came out this week on dvd released by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Underground. Last night I put it in to watch around midnight and It kept me on the edge of my seat through it’s entirety. Usually when I start a movie that late there’s a good chance I’ll start to dose off and finish it the next day. Not the case here.

  • So what to do with the Star Wars universe when it seems like it has all been done before? Why not invite the loyal fans to A New Hope…15 seconds at a time! Star Wars Uncut is cutting out to be one of those odd concepts that could produce a very interesting result!

  • Peter Saturday’s last post on the French animated/puppeteer movie Strings triggered a French movie moment on my part as well. Another great little known French release from 2006 that I highly recommend is Renaissance! This is a futuristic dark and gritty CGI film that looks like it was drawn by the guy that does the KMFDM album artwork (Brute!, aka Adrian Hughes)…but it wasn’t. If this sounds remotely interesting, I suggest you read on!

  • About a week ago I was out for a drink with a friend and I saw a portion of a movie they were projecting that literally blew my mind! It’s a movie called Strings and it was released in 2004. Somehow I’ve never heard of it until now and when seeing this onscreen in the bar I was convinced it had to be some obscure 80’s fantasy movie that slipped through my fingers. Now keep in mind I have never seen this whole movie all the way through only viewing a portion of it with no sound either just music being played in the background. All I can say is that it looked pretty bizarre and truely fascinating. Plus I am a huge puppet fanatic so right away I knew it was a must see.I put this in my queue a few minutes ago and am pretty excited to really see what this is all about. The trailer looks pretty epic-check it out! If you have already seen it let us know what you think!

  • The big news about the sequel to Predator is that they signed on a lead role in the film! Yeah it has been confirmed that Adrien Brody will be doing battle as the main character for “Predators”. I am not sure how I feel about this choice yet. It’s a big leap from Arnold but a much better choice than Danny Glover. I guess what we can expect is some better acting than the first two films. But does a Predator sequel really need a good actor? As much as I can’t picture Brody taking on the legendary aliens I’m not too sure who I would want to see cast in the role. Who from todays actors is a wise choice? Do we really need a modern day muscle bound action hero to make this film a worthy sequel? From what is have recently read it seems alot of people think it’s an unwise casting choice. what do you think?

  • The new Star Trek film was hands down amazing! Perfect in almost evey way except for one person from the original series who was obviously given a raw deal by  Mr. JJ Abrams. Where the HELL was Finnegan?! We were supposedly visiting the  academy years of Kirk and Spock. Perhaps JJ never saw the legendary episode “Shore Leave” from  TOS?! Perhaps he had no idea that Finnegan was Kirk’s mortal enemy and tormented his academy years?
