• Ok so last night I had a little too much to drink at my weekly epic LOST party! Can you blame me? It’s the last damn season of one of the most epic sci fi shows ever! Anyway often times consuming to much alcohol leads to me either being to brain dead to blog of just too damn tired. Well today however being partially brain dead and I will admit a bit on the tired side spent some time on good ol’ You Tube watching endless videos and one that I thought was a blast to share here was Cinemassacre’s 2008  Top Ten Giant Monsters list! Who doesn’t love a giant movie monster?! If you don’t love giant movie monsters you shouldn’t even be on Universal Dork! There’s literally nothing we like better here than a good giant “man in rubber suit” monster gracing the screen. So take a few moments of your time and check out this cool vid-you’ll never guess who takes the number one spot!

  • Word on the street is that there is once again no decision on who is gonna play the role of Cap! Come on Joe Johnston, you were given the dealine of March 1st to pick someone-get your shit together already! Not only is there no frontfrunner for the part but Johnston has also decided to bring in some more candidates for the part. Now pointing to Channing Tatum from the  super studpid G.I. Joe movie and also Ryan Phillipe who starred in the equally lame Cruel Intentions. Wow exciting huh? Not so much.

I am personally biting my tongue for anything I said about Leonardo Dicaprio getting the role of Cap a while back!  (more…)

  • Well the vampire craze has definately gotten out of control again! It seems as if everyone is makin’ a vampire movie these days since the success of the highly over rated crap fest “Twilight”. It really is too bad when a trend which is otherwise pretty dang cool is started by a shitty ass movie! At the least the zombie revival was kicked off by the amazing 28 Days Later. But still I’m a fan of the vampire, even though this year was supposed to be the year of the werewolf it seems to have been derailed by the Wolfman. So vampires are everywhere still and I’m not opposed to that, hell I even got into True Blood.

Well amidst all of this blood sucking there’s still yet another vampire movie I am pretty pumped to check out. Suck is a pretty unique looking flick (more…)

  • I just checked out the offical Predators movie website and they now have just posted a cool little featurette up about the movie with some bad ass clips and insight from Robert Rodriguez . It’s looking pretty awesome so far, much better than I expected and incredibly old school ala the original. No sign yet of Arnold, yet he is still rumoured to make a cameo near the end of the movie!

There’s even a quick shot of what appear to be Predator hunting “dogs”. This will hold you over until the 18th when the official trailer is released! Check it out here!

Also check out the full report on the Predators trailer and Q&A with Rodriguez posted today from SXSW from one of my fav websites BloodyDisgusting.com!

  • The rumors are flying that the Red Skull has potentially been cast! But these seem a little more so confirmed than just rumors as Hugo Weaving is in serious talks to play the iconic super villain in the upcoming Captain America movie. It seems that several sources tonight have reported that Weaving will don the red skull upon his head. this is what The Hollywood Reporter had to say about it:

“The dealmaking with Weaving is in a delicate stage that will play out in the next day (more…)

  • One thing I really hate are region 2 DVDS and super expensive VHS tapes! There are a few movies I’m trying to track down but one in particular that I have never seen is a movie called “Spookies”. This amazingly bad looking creature feature came out in 1986 and as a kid I remember the awesome looking cover at the video stores.

Somehow this one slipped through my fingers, I have never seen it and it has never been released on dvd in the USA. I have been checking ebay but the vhs copies are actually kinda pricey. Anyway I may just have to watch it on Youtube (which can kinda suck) as it seems like the only way I am going to actually view this anytime soon. I suppose too since I have been quite under the weather this week that really wouln’t be such a bad idea? Anyway being a huge fan of 80’s horror and an even bigger fan of a good or bad monster movie this one appears to have all the right ingredients for success! Check out the trailer for this and if you have a spare copy let me know!!

  • Wow. This morning I was totally shocked when I got up and heard the news that Corey Haim had died just a couple hours ago. It really shouldn’t be that shocking though since all of his drug related problems right? He seemed like one of the most troubled former child actors out there yet still it shocked me as I felt a small part of my childhood die as well.

Corey Haim may have not been taken too seriously over the last 20 years but there was a time when he starred in some of the coolest movies of the 80’s. Obviously The Lost Boys was a great movie that may go down in history as the BEST vampire movie ever made. But Corey also starred in many other awesome movies that still today bring back fond memories of the 80’s and deserve a second, third or fourth veiwing in his honor. Here are a few of my faves some of them seem relatively forgotten by alot of people….

Firstborn was one of Corey’s first movies (more…)

  • Well some people seemed to think that “The Office” star John Krasinski would be perfect cast as Captain America. I’m not quite sure if it was just because of his appeal from the show, his quirkiness or his acting chops. For me, though he seemed a familiar face and a funny guy just really couldn’t see him as Cap. So today I was a bit relieved when it was officially decided today that he is NOT going to be wielding the shield. For me I will take a sigh of relief. Really he’s the least douchey of all the candidates-so in the end perhaps who knows, maybe he would have been the best choice?

But for now I have faith they will choose someone who screams “Cap” a little more. I heard as well that Chris Evans who played The Human Torch in the god-awful Fantastic Four flicks was up for the role as well now.  Personally I’m holding out for my first pic  “Tron Legacy” star Garrett Hedlund to snatch the role! I mean he’s in the Tron sequel with Jeff Bridges!! Oh yeah the new trailer for Tron:Legacy was also released-check it out here!

  • So I’ve put up some pretty epic cartoon fights lately, at least I think so! I’ve several more planned to post up here as well to get the adrenaline pumping too. But what about those totally un-epic cartoon battles??

Well look no further because now I’m on a mission to bring you some of the most god awful cartoon brawls I can find! Believe me there are alot of them! So first we’ll start with a pretty crap-tastic cartoon battle between Spider-man, Electro, the Green Goblin and The Vulture! This sounds like a dream battle huh? Well get ready to be severly unimpressed with this ridiculous 4 way snooze fest! Good thing Spidey mastered ventriloquism!

  • This wednesday I’ll be running to the comic book shop to catch up on some missed titles as I haven’t been religiously going there weekly for quite sometime. This of course has been a huge bummer and as many Americans are feeling the effects of a very poor economy I have also accepted the fact that I can’t really afford to blow a ton of money every week on a stack of comics like I used to. At some point I am sure things will be back to normal, but in the meantime I am being pretty selective with what I have been picking up. Many times missing out on storylines I have started.

Well as you may know I’m a big Incredible Hulk fanatic and as I have been pretty into the “Fall of the Hulks” storyline I ended up missing a few key issues leaving me thinking to just wait for the trade paperback. However I am pretty pumped about the Incredible Hulk one shot coming out this week, Hulk : Let The Battle Begin, which pits ol jade jaws up against one of my all time favorite supervillain teams of all time-The Wrecking Crew!
