• I thought it’d be cool to share a couple videos with you here that fellow contributor Eljamez filmed and collaborated on here at Universal Dork. I being a personal fan of awkward, quirky humour am a big fan of these and am trying to get him to make some more videos.  He of course as well helped out and filmed the Mister Saturday “Get Your Own” box Video which, well what the hell-I’ll post again here! There’s just not enough damn shameless self promotion here at Universal anyway! Anyway the first video is one of my fav’s for the faux pilot to the show “Going For it” had it been developed more I’m sure it would have rivaled Three’s Company of Perfect Strangers anyday! check it out:

Next up is “The Visit” this is well, um just try and make sense of this one…. (more…)

  • Here’s a  video fellow dork Eljamez played for me yesterday right before an epic night of D&D! Check this video out as it shows what Darth Vader is like when he’s truely in love.

Thoughts of his ultra lame love affair with Padme are obviously a thing of the past as a determined Vader meet’s his ideal woman. If you haven’t already seen this one, check it out as I’m sure it will brighten your day!!

  • Ok I have talked about the Lost Boys sequels here for quite a while and even since the shitty first sequel I have STILL not given up hope that they will finally get the third movie right! With that being said I recently discovered that the third Lost Boys movie trailer has just been put online for all to view.

One good thing you will notice is that the Frog Brothers are indeed back! Supposedly this movie is based more heavily on the recent comic book adventures.

However from the first viewing of the trailer I can’t say I am super impressed with what I see for the third film. Not that I have really ever been convinced that anyone would do a sequel correctly anyway. It seems by this trailer they once again have a bunch of douchey vampires to hunt and kill. It could just be me but I always thought the vamps in the original were pretty cool? But maybe in the 80’s people were thinking Kiefer and crew were a bunch of douches too. I was hoping for a grittier look on the film, but right now it seems so far like the Frog Brothers got dropped into an episode of True Blood, which really isn’t necessarily a bad thing…

  • What the SHIT!!!! So news is apparrently that Guillermo Del Toro has officially quit The Hobbit!! This has got to be some sort of nightmare that I just can’t seem to wake from! But I assure you that this is the sad truth as he told TheOneRing.net  flat out that he’s just too damn tired of waiting to make this shit happen!! Well guess what? I’m pretty fucking tired of waiting for this shit to happen too!!! Apparently he can’t seem to commit to spending six years in New Zealand as he has been facing a boat load of delays on the project and was only signed on to be there originally for three years. It’s no wonder he split as they don’t even have a god damn Bilbo Baggins cast yet! Ok guys I have been holding back a bit on saying this but seriously….GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER ALREADY!  JEEEZUS! I must say I too have been wondering what the hell these guys have been doing for the last few years myself-I mean really the damn story has already been written-GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!

Anyway this is what he had to say about it: (more…)

  • Hey there! So I am finally back on the blog after a little hiatus without any internet access for about a week-but never fear you can listen to my incoherent babbling consistantly once again! Anyway I just had to blog about one of my favorite books EVER as a child. It was simply titled “Favorite Tales of Monsters and Trolls” and it came out in 1977 by Random House. Let me tell you, as a kid you couldn’t pry this particular book out of my hands with a crowbar and a stick of dynamite!! Yeah the book is that cool! So first off any older dorks out there with kids need to hunt this down and read this book to your kids before bed. I am sure you can find it on ebay or I know for a fact they have a few copies for sale on Amazon.

Anyway I must say first off that this book  has some of the coolest most beautiful artwork ever seen in a childrens book and some of the best images of trolls you are ever likely to see. The artist John O’brien beautifully illustrates this book with incredible detail. Everytime you look at a picture you’ll notice something new. (more…)

  • Ok first off I wanna say I’m sorry for the lull in the blogs for the past few days but I am temporarily out of internet service which can make blogging a bit difficult! Hopefully this will be resolved by the weekend but for the moment I am catching a wireless signal on my roomie’s laptop! So I figured I should at least put up a quick blog!

Anyway it’s news to me but today I found out that there is indeed going to be a remake of one of my all time fav sci fi movies: Fantastic Voyage! If you have yet to see the original you best rent that as soon as possible as it is truly fantastic. The 1966 movie is pretty amazing as a submarine and it’s crew are shrunk down and injected in to the body of a dying man racing against time to repair a blood clot in his brain. The only problem is after an hour inside the body it’s immune system will be able to detect them. Now imagine this movie made in 1966-no cg. You might think it’d be a simply ridiculous looking movie. Not the case, for it’s time and even now I’d say the movie still has some great visuals and a helluva alot of charm. (more…)

  • So here we are just one episode away from the grand finale of LOST!! I never thought we’d ever be this close to the end of the series. It’s been a good run so far this season but I’m seriously hoping that the ending is seriously epic and that it will be something we will be talking about for months. It’s going to be sad to say goodbye to all of the crew, Hurley, Jack (whom I have grown to love), Sawyer, Kate, Jin, Sun and most of all Locke! I have said it for a long time, ever since the beginning actually that Locke was the most important and intriguing character on the entire show. But now we all wonder how long Locke has been the real Locke, if the real Locke will indeed return and most of all his significance to the entire show. Anyway I today just ran across a picture painted of Locke by none other than everybody’s fav shock rocker Marilyn Manson. Now I’m not a huge fan of Manson’s music but I have always found him to be quite interesting to say the least. Who would have thought he too was such a big LOST fan and even more so loved Locke so much that he painted a portrait of him!!

  • So today via Moviehole I finally saw some stills from the upcoming remake of Let The Right One In, quite possibly one of greatest most unique vampire movies ever made. I have been severely skeptical about this particular remake now entitled “Let Me In” because simply the original is flawless. I only hope that this new American version ends up like “The Ring” remake which actually improved upon the original. The only thing now that this remake has going for it is Kick-Ass’ Chloe Mortez starring in it as the young vampiric Eli . I’ve got my fingers crossed!

  • It’s Mother’s Day!! So I highly suggest you send your mom this amazing video by none other than Mr. T! It’s the one day of the year you can actually get your mom to boogie down to T’s smooth rap! All you Mommas around the world GET DOWN!!

  • Ok first off sorry if it suddenly seems as if I have been slackin’ on the blogging lately! I have been working like crazy ever since I got back from my cross country road trip! So anyway I just found out about this today so pardon me if for some reason this is old news to you. It seems that there has been a new villain announced for the new  upcoming Captain America movie, Arnim Zola!!!

I will say this is fantastic news as I wasn’t sure if it’d only be the Red Skull cap was up against. So today I find out that little guy Toby Jones (Infamous, Harry Potter) will be portraying the legenday villain! (more…)
