• Fans of legendary science-fiction writer Philip K. Dick may already know that a functioning android of Dick was created in 2005 by robotics wiz David Hanson for a sum of $25,000. This robot looked like Dick, had most of his novels and characteristics downloaded into it’s brain and could carry on conversations as though it was the real thing! What many don’t know (or may have forgotten by now) is that the android’s head mysteriously vanished on a flight in 2006! To this day, the head of the sci-fi writer-futurist (who often advocated freedom and compassion for robots), is out there somewhere. Today I suggest we all take a good look around us and keep our eyes peeled for any bearded sentient robot heads.

  • Hype up time.  It is on the tip of everyone’s tounge, The Watchmen is finally a full length motion picutre.  Much like other comic seires before it, The Watchmen was first explored at a television show (not many people know this).  Spiderman, X-men, even Batman were all television programs before making it to the big screen.  Do you guys remember The Watchmen Saturday morning cartoon show?

It was one of my favorites!

  • Have you seen the 1985 movie “DUNGEONMASTER”? No? What is wrong with you!!! We watched it at the first Bad Movie Night we had and um….it’s probably the coolest movie ever made. Go hunt this flick down now!!! You will not regret it!!

  • This last weekend we all got together to watch some of the most awful terds ever filmed! Yes it was officially Bad Movie Night at my pad and we rocked it hard with some truely terrible cinema. • I have to thank our local weekly paper’s music blog  (The Portland Mercury’s End Hits) for reminding me of this gem from my childhood.  I probably watched The Neverending Story about one zillion times when I was a kid.  The adventures of Atreyu (not the lame band) and Artax (and later Falcor) really boostered my imagination as a kid.  And, I think this video helped out.  It’s the guy from Kajagoogoo.  I always thought that big turtle guy looked like E.T.

  • From the mouth of one of the coolest people to ever exist comes this rad song!! If this doesn’t make you wanna respect your mom then nothing ever will! Check out this performance and original rap super-hit “Treat Your Mother Right” by the one and only Mr. T!!

  • Last night i checked out the new Jean-Claude Van Damme movie entitled “JCVD” and it was a very interesting watch to say the least. I am not even sure what inspired him to make a movie like this. What i will say is that Mr. Van Damme actually CAN act! This is no Bloodsport, Cyborg or Double Team (or whatever other direct to Dvd action flick he’s got out this month). In this movie which in French with subtitles, he plays himself. The washed up action hero looking for his next c-movie role, competing with Steven Segal for them and battling for custody of his child. A tired and aging Van Damme is hero in his home city of Brussels and famed for bringing “John Woo” to the USA. He reluctantly takes pictures with fans on the street and at the same time deals with his daughter being ashamed of his hokey acting career. This movie is very much what i really would picture his real life to be like. Then things take a twist as he enters a bank to have money wired to his lawyer for his child custody case.
