• So the other night I recieved a movie in the mail that was apparently in my Blockbuster  Online (Yeah I am not  a Netflix dude since there is a Blockbuster a couple blocks away) account for probably a year or so. So when “Creepozoids” arrived in the mail I was definately intrigued. Especially since Linnea Quigley was the big name in this one. Yeah, Linnea “Dance on Your Grave in Return of the Living Dead”  Quigley was the actual star power of this flick! I love really shitty horror sci-fi movies. And yes this one delivered the goods! Post apocolytic horror from the 80’s.

  • It’s been a long road to for Wolverine to finally meet his mega arch nemesis “Romulus” in the flesh but today in Wolverine : Origins #39 it finally happens at least on the last full page of the comic. Yes we finally see Romulus in the flesh! He, well, looks kinda like what should be either Wolverine’s older brother or father mixed with the ultra old rat “Nicodemus” from The Secret of Nimh. He’s about twice Wolverine’s size and has four, most likely adamantium claws.

  • So last night I went out for a few drinks with fellow Universal Dorker James Hall and while at the bar, Beulahland here in Portland they were playing some awesome obscure cartoons on the projector as they always do on monday nights. One of the cartoons shown was an amazing short New Zealand film from 1986 called “The Frog, The Dog and The Devil” which I had never seen before.

While they showed this cool cartoon however, they were playing music in the background so you couldn’t hear any of the dialogue. So I figured if I came home and checked it out on Youtube that I’d have a much better understanding of what this film was actually all about. Well, no such luck! Though it was on Youtube (yay!) hearing it with it’s original soundtrack did not make this any easier to understand. Mind you I did have a few at the bar so maybe I’m just missing something? I tried to find more info about it online and didn’t come up with too much more than a blank IMDB page.

Either way this is an amazing cartoon everyone should check out. It obviously has alot to do with drinking, a frog, a dog and the supernatural. Perhaps you can make your own assumptions about what this short really means. Either way if  you are a fan of obscure animation this one is for you….

  • I ran across this cool featurette on Youtube about the upcoming movie starring Bruce Willis called “The Surrogates”. It is based on the awesome Sci-Fi comic book of the same name that came out a few years back. So far this adaptation looks pretty promising and true to it’s source material. You can find this comic in trade form so if you have not checked this out yet I highly advise you do so. I think it says alot about our current society and how with all the technology out there today many of us  are not truely living our lives anymore. We rely on our cell phones, video games and the internet as substitutes for real experiences. This movie and comic book pushes that idea alot further along to what our society someday could look like check this out…

  • Just when you think the world has see ever large animal/beast film in CG, someone still has to push the limit and make one more. Seriously, who is watching this crap? Oh wait…the Syfy channel needs another new movie of their Saturday night line up, that’s who. Come on, didn’t we learn anything from Anacondas and Pythons, and let’s not forget Anaconda vs. Pythons!

  • One thing that I love are vintage toys and their commercials! Another thing I love beyond belief is The Incredible Hulk! So check out this “radio controlled” version of the jade giant. Sounds pretty amazing huh? Controlling the Hulk’s every move?! Wrecking havok on all that stand in his way? Well not quite, it was 1980 so you had to take what you could get. How about a blow up doll Hulk attached to  a radio contolled stand? Well I certainly thought it was the shit!  So what if the rest of his body didn’t move and he moved more slowly than a wasted tortoise! Check this out and see what all the rage was if you were a kid in 1980!

  • I am totally thrilled beyond belief that Guillermo del Toro is doing The Hobbit, but that also means that there won’t be another Hellboy movie for years! The last Hellboy film was so damn good I was foaming at the mouth for a third movie. So what could they do in between while del Toro is running around middle earth with Frodo?! How about a B.P.R.D. movie already?! In case you live in a cave B.P.R.D. stands for Bureau Of Paranormal Research and Defense. It’s the group that Hellboy and good Ol’ Abe Sapien work for. It’s the group that saves humanity from monsters, ghosts, demons and aliens.  It’s also a super rad comic book. And Guess what? It doesn’t feature Hellboy as the main character. Hint, Hint….

  •                                                So does anyone have a pair of these in my size?

    hulk shoes

These are pretty amazing huh? I found this pic on http://www.incrediblehulkonline.com/hulkjewelry.html where you can check out a section called Hulk Fashion that literally made me drool. Some pretty amazing vintage Hulk stuff shown there!

Plus check out this commercial from 1980 for the Incredible Hulk shoes shown above! Yeah I know you’ve seen some recent Hulk shoes that were inspired by the movies and I must say they looked pretty terrible. I’d like to get my hands on a pair of 9 and 1/2 Hulk shoes. I wonder if they made them in adult sizes? May have to check ebay for that and a pair of Hulk Underoos!

  • David Cronenberg is still making great movies to this day. Many people know him mainly for A History of Violence, Eastern Promises or even his classic The Fly, which is just simply one of the best horror movies ever made. But let’s not forget about one of his most frightening films from the late 70’s. The Brood. There is always something completely eerie and off about his movies and this one thrives on both. In fact throughout nearly the whole movie you you’ll be trying to peice things together that clearly seem to make no sense and don’t fit.

  • Zombies are popular…right? So I decided to go on a hunt for some of the recent zombie releases and make a blog collecting them to inform our readers…quickly, I realized that zombies have gotten out of hand. This is my testament to the good, the bad, and the dead of the offerings over the last couple years (and upcoming). Oddly enough, I have not seen 75% of these. And since I could hardly sit through half of these trailers…I am sure the movies are much, much worse. If you can stomach it, here is a gut full of the putrid smorgasbord of undead flicks for your enjoyment.

This goes on forever, so if it takes you a couple days/weeks to make it through all of these trailers, I understand. Just please be thankful of the dedication of this dork to sit through all of them. Yeah, and I am sure I missed like 20 or so…

    Enjoy you undead loving sick-o’s!
