• Over the weekend it was revealed that Robert Zemekis is indeed bringing Roger Rabbit back to the big screen. There hasn’t been too much solid info revealed on the sequel except that movie will be penned by it’s original writers Peter Seaman and Jeffrey Price. There has been talk of making the movie partailly in 3-D and using motion capture for all characters other than the cartoons in a recent interview I saw at Mtv.com. Something is starting to sound a little well how can I put it quite simply? Lame!

So wasn’t the charm of the first movie the fact that the Toons were existing in the real world? (more…)

  • I am pumped for Joe Dante’s new upcoming movie, The Hole. As you may already know Joe Dante was responsible for such classics as Gremlins, The Howling, Innerspace, The Explorers and horror classic Pirahna (now being remade) in the late 70’s. Most recently I rewatched “The Burbs” which was another great movie he helmed as well as Twilight Zone: The Movie. His movies always have that almost family friendly 80’s quality to them, even his later “horror” films and I mean that in a very good way.  A feel that you don’t find so much in modern cinema anymore. Well his next movie is supposed to have that old school feel to it. He compared it in recent interviews to the 80’s classic “The Gate” which is one of my all time favs. He also stated the film will be in 3-D and will deliver some classic chills. I personally would love to have that feeling again I had when I first saw Gremlins. I have a feeling this film is going to be ALOT of fun…check out this Interview with Joe as he gives a little more insight on this family friendly horror movie:

  • Well, well, well…I just wrapped up a session with the much hyped House of the Devil and so I felt that a Universal Dork review would be just what the Doctor ordered.  Apparently, this lower budget suspense/thriller/horror flick has been doing the rounds in the fall film festivals and getting rave reviews.  Lately, the new horror movies that are tickling the fancies of the festivals have been getting great grades on my score chart (i.e., Paranormal Activity, Trick ‘r Treat), so we will just have to see how this one stacks up!

  • As you may already know I am huge Incredible Hulk fan yet It has been at least a year since I have followed the comic book. I will admit I was hooked on Planet Hulk & World War Hulk. Infact I must admit those were some of the best Hulk stories I’ve read in years. Then what happens to my Hulk title that Greg Pack had so magnificently written? Well for some reason the title tuned into The Incredible Hercules and we start following the exploits of Hercules instead of the Hulk. Um ok…then a new title simply called Hulk emerges written by Jeph Loeb. Well I have to be honest about Mr. Loeb, he’s pretty hit or miss. Usually a miss in my opinion. I read maybe the first two issues of this title and was less than impressed. In fact so unimpressed I never picked up an issue again.

  • A couple months back, this dork was a bit hard on Rob Zombie. In a blog about his plans to remake The Blob, I guess I was a bit harsh in my criticism about how he keeps remaking things and why the divergence from the original works like House of the 100 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. Well, today there was an article on CNN.com that bitch slapped me a bit and put my back in the mood for loving Mr. Zombie. Please read on to learn more!

  • It’s almost Halloween and it’s time to tell some ghost stories! Well the best ghost stories of them all are the ones that really happened! So i figured I might as tell one that happened to me about 2 years ago. Mind you it’s really the only real ghostly encounter I’ve ever had except for the unexplainable Paulding Light which I blogged right here about sometime ago. Keep in mind too that I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to ghosts.

  • So for those of you that are familiar with the infamous Ron Jeremy, you know full well that there are no porn movie plots that are beneath him. From spoof of the Adam’s Family (The Maddams Family) to Flatliners (Fatliners), Mr. Jeremy has starred in over 1000 movies! And add to the madness of porn legacy that he has constructed, apparently he starred in Super Hornio Brothers…a spoof on Super Mario at the time that the Nintendo NES and SNES were kings…yeah the good old days of 1993.

  • This is by far the best season to watch horror movies! So what are you gonna do with yourself before halloween? Spend your money sitting at a bar? Go to bed early? Watch reruns of Small Wonder ’til 2am? Smash some neighborhood pumpkins? No way! It’s Horror Movie Night time!! Pick out a few movies make some good food, grab some beer, invite some friends over and watch a few awesome movies in honor of this splendid holiday! But the real question is what to watch right? Well ponder this no longer because here are five movies that will be sure to please the even the most finnicky of your friends!

    1. Trick ‘r Treat.

You read of the review months ago right here and luckily this one got released before halloween. This is probably your best bet for Horror Night since it obviously takes place on  halloween and is one of the coolest halloween themed movies I have ever seen.  It has a cool old school 80’s vibe, no CG and has four awesome interwoven tales of the macabre! Produced by X-men’s own Bryan singer to boot!

  • Halloween has gotta be the best holiday ever! I mean what’s better than dressiing up as whatever you want for one night? Watching scary movies?? Eating candy? Scaring people and small children?! It’s no wonder that the one of the best bands ever wrote one of the best punk songs about it! The Misfits embody everything great about this holiday and Iam not talking about Jerry Only and his Misfits cover band he tours around as now. Check out this cool video from the early 80’s where The Misfits perfrom this classic. It’s time to get pumped for hallowwen 2009!
