Hey if you check out this link here at BloodyDisgusting.com you can see the new trailer (it’s not on youtube yet) for the Upcoming Clash of the Titans remake. Better yet you can finally see exactly what the legendary Kraken looks like! This movie is looking pretty amazing and this new footage keeps the hype level pretty high! Oh yeah and speaking of the Kraken and Clash of the Titans let’s not forget the awesome toy line that came out in 1980! This is on ebay right now too and if I had an extra $300 laying around I’d bid ! Amazing!!!

When I was a kid there was one particular watch that you just needed to have! A Kronoform! These things were so damn popular I think that almost every kid in my class had one! Obviously these were all the rage during the Transformers craze and they could transform into several different things….well sorta. They could definately be a watch and definately be a robot. Now saying it could transform into anything else especially a battle station as seen in the commercial was a bit of a stretch! I guess all you needed to do was the stand the robot on it’s head! Anyway I am not sure what made me think of these this morning but just seeing them in the commercial brought back some fond memories…

So I am sure many of you heard about the recent leak of information about Ghostbusters 3 straight from Sigourney Weaver’s mouth! It seems she let the cat out of the bag about Bill Murray’s bizzare return to the franchise. No, Dr. Peter Venkman won’t be busting ghosts in the third film, it seems he’ll be the one being busted. She stated that Murray will be a Ghost in the third movie.

So this is pretty simple, but Universal Dork would really like your opinion. When it comes to Transformers, it is great to see the universe refreshed cause the comics and cartoon were just a staple of our youth. But I think all old schoolers agree that the movies just sucked; same situation as high cost sci-fi cartoon-based movies…great FX and cinematography, but terrible writing, plot, character development, casting, etc. (you know, all those other pesky movie making skills).
A natural byproduct of the movie, you have a refresh of characters due to artistic integrity and pending popularity an eventual toy line. So when I heard Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen was going to feature classic characters like Jetfire and Devastator…I was pretty excited. Let’s face it, how could you screw up some awesomely powerful transformers like these two? Wow, I continue to be pretty naïve in my trust of Hollywood nowadays. Read on for more information.

So there have been a couple strange things that have happened this week around the world, the first being the amazing Norwegian Vortex that was seen in the early hours of the morning on Dec 9th. This UFO in the sky hasn’t been explained yet but the government is calling it the result of a possible unsuccessful missle launch. I’m calling some B.S. on that one. How many unsuccessful launches have there been? How many times have people seen something like this in the sky?! Pretty amazing if you ask me. It looks like a portal to another dimension. Hopefully this is the start of some serious questioning! I am in the midst of getting more info on this right now but check this out if you haven’t seen it already…

Ok well at least it’s not a remake but an actual sequel! Yeah there’s been some info released by Disney on the Tron 2: Legacy storyline and so far it sounds pretty fun plus it even has Jeff Bridges reprising his role. I know, does Tron really need a sequel? Well I guess the answer is yes. I did have fond memories of that movie as a kid and also got many hours of enjoyment from playing the video game back in the day! Now if only video games were as cool as they were back in the 80’s right? I know some people would beg to differ but really I just don’t have time these days to learn 100 different moves and work 15 different buttons on a controller. Whatever happened to video games that had like one knobby controller or a roller ball and a button?!! Something you could learn to play in a few minutes! Either way this will be one movie where the CG will be welcomed with open arms!! Check out the plot line below…

Do you ever get sick of watching It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol or being forced into watching The Polar Express? Well never again! It’s the season alright and I’m gonna give you some recommendations of cool movies you might not know or have forgotten were christmas movies! We will start off with a few that should be easy to sneak into the mix and then get into some that maybe a bit of a more difficult sell. This year the relatives can watch some of these instead!
One of my favs is definately Gremlins! Yeah this is totally a christmas movie and one I never get sick of watching. This will be a pretty easy sell for the whole family since pretty much everyone loves this movie. It’s just that alot of people foget it is indeed a christmas flick! (more…)

The rumors are flying around Spider-man 4’s choice of villains. Not long ago it seemed a sure bet that it would indeed finally be Dylan Baker who has played Doc Connors in the films finally transforming into the Lizard. Seems like the logical choice doesn’t it? Well now word on the street now from Movieline.com is that John Malkovich is being considered for the role of The Vulture.

This morning I ran across a fun animated short film called Tofu the Vegan Zombie! Tofu seems to be the friendliest zombie in town. That is as long as you keep that peice of tofu on his head. Otherwise he turns back into a mindless flesh eater. This is a pretty fun little cartoon and I look forward to seeing more of them in the future! Check it out:

James here, Last night Universal Dork blogger Peter Saturday and myself checked out the touring “Found Footage Fest” at the Laurelhurst Theater here in Portland. And I have to say it was pretty awesome. The entire premise of the fest is pretty much inherit in their name. It’s all found footage from old VHS tapes found anywhere from thrift stores to dumpsters. According to the website, the two guys (Joe and Nick) that put on this fest have been collecting these videos since 1991 and they watch hours upon hours of these videos to find the true gems that we get to see in the final product. Check out their tour dates to see when they will be visiting a city near you. They do a great job of guiding us through the re-discovered gold that is the Found Footage Fest. If you can’t wait, the website has some great videos. Here are a few of my favorites.
