I just ran across this trailer for a possibly upcoming movie called “Blood Trail”. It’s a CG animated trailer for the proposed horror film and so far I can’t decide whether or not this totally cool or really lame. I guess it reminds me a bit of the most recent “Beowolf” animated movie. I watched that as well and to this day am still unsure whether or not I liked it. I can’t decide if seeing these types of films is like watching an extended intro for an XBox game or if it’s something truely unique. I can say that at least the monsters presented in this trailer look natural in their onscreen environment. Many of the horror and sci-fi monsters onscreen today look horrible especially when they are placed in real environments along with real actors. So maybe this is not such a bad idea after all keeping these CG monsters in their CG worlds. It seems from reading all the comments this trailer recieved on it’s youtube page that almost everyone thought this looked amazing. What do you think?

One response to “CG Animated Horror Movies-A good idea?”

Wow, I am excited to see this. I guess I figure there is room for all types of animation. Agreed on Beowolf, felt like a Xbox movie, but overall I enjoyed it. And it is only bound to get better with time. This is just another step in the process. Ultimately this looks like it delivers on some good gore and looks entertaining.
