Universal Dork

I have been missing a good Alpha Flight title since John Byrne left it in the 1980’s. Yes it’s true I am an Alpha Flight fan and I am proud of  it! I’m STILL pissed off that Bendis killed them off in 2006! I still need to confront him about that (he lives here in Portland Oregon and we see him all over the place) and you know what? Omega Flight just didn’t fill the void. I want the real deal back. Guardian, Sasquatch, Puck, Shaman, Vindicator, Aurora, Northstar, Snowbird and hell even Marrina!

 They’re essentially Canada’s X-Men, they had the first openly gay superhero (Nothstar), they have a Bigfoot on their team( how rad is that!?!) and Wolverine was once set to be the team’s leader. They were one of my favorite comic book super teams of all time and they still haven’t returned to the fold. So what gives? Why all this hate for Alpha Flight at Marvel? In 2004 they relaunched the series and it was complete B.S.. Really now Major Maple Leaf and Yukon Jack joining their ranks?! That’s not funny!! Come on! So this is one book I think Marvel needs to revamp once again and get someone good to bring it back to it’s true potential. Infact since Bendis killed them off maybe he should be the one to revive them and write the new series himself? I think it’d be a good time anyway for him to take a break from The New Avengers don’t you?!

Hey Bendis if you are gonna kill Alpha Flight at least make it an epic battle….

You know maybe they could get Wolverine to be a part of this team too since he is already in like 15 Marvel titles and really it would make alot more sense for him to re-join Alpha flight than it did for him to join The Avengers. Anyway you look at it this title needs to be given another shot  these guys have been given a hard life by Marvel and suffered alot of  blows. If they are brought back let’s just make sure that Guardian (Jame Hudson) never dies again! I mean the guy has just GOTTA be over dying by now…..

Wolverine was a possible candidate to lead Alpha Flight when Guardian died in the 1980’s. Maybe it’s time for him to return back to canada and join their ranks once again.

Let’s hope Major Maple Leaf stays dead along with the rest of those Alpha posers.

I would take an Alpha Flight relaunch with John Cassaday as the titles artist anyday!
