So I’d say one of the weirdest damn holiday horror flicks of all time has just got to be 1987’s ‘BLOODY NEW YEAR’! Have you seen it?
Well whether you have or not take a moment to check out the Movie Melt podcast as we talk about some sweet under appreciated odd ball movies and get straight into the new year with this classic slice of weird-o 80’s British horror film.
It’s easily one of the most surreal and ambitious micro budget movies I’ve seen a long time and it’s perfect for the holiday seasons, if you’ve seen it you likely know how bizarre this wild little flick truly is! Check out MOVIE MELT and this episode for Bloody New Year!
First let’s get this out of the way-HAPPY DAMN NEW YEAR! Let’s hope 2021 is leaps and bounds better than 2020, I mean things can’t get worse can they? Well back in 1973 Batman had one shitty ass New Years in issue #247. He and Robin had their hands full trying to stop a weirdo in a holiday sweater who’s planted canisters of nerve gas all around Gotham! Phew I’m glad I’m only suffering from a hangover and not doing THAT today. Check out this blast from the Caped Crusader’s troubled holiday past with this sweet classic cover drawn by Dick Giordano & Gaspar Saladino!
HAAAAAAPPY NEW YEARS!! Wow it’s already the new years? What the hell, am I trapped in a hyper speed time warp??? Where does all this damn time go?! Oh well 2011 here we come right? Personally I was hoping by 2011 I’d be flying around on a hover board like Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future 2-but hey I’ll be happy enough with an Ipod I guess…anyway I just wanted to warn anyone who’s thinking about partyin’ to stay away from trains!
Cuz Terror Train, one of the only New Years films out there that’s worth watching proves that! Jamie Lee Curtis finds that out the hard way! So if you are in need of a good New Years Flick go rent this sucker tonight!!
Happy New Years!
Well here it is 2010!! Things are not nearly advanced as they were believed to be by this year in all of those sci-fi movies! Anyway This january here marks one full year of Universal Dork! I can’t believe how fast this year went and how many blogs we’ve done. I also wanted to thank everyone who checked us out here an continues too! There’s never a shortage of geeky things to report and as long as there continues to be we’ll be giving our two cents worth on them all. So now taking a deep breath that the holidays are almost completely over we can really get focused here again. Keep your eyes open for our best and worst of 2009 this week! I’d do one today but honestly typing this is a challenging right now as I am quite brain dead from last night. Also you’ll be noticing soon a new look for the site, don’t worry though the Beyonder won’t be going anywhere! Thanks again!
