Comic Cover of the Week: Zeck’s Iconic Kraven The Hunter!!!
Mike Zeck in my opinion is easily one of the BEST comic book cover artists of all time! Now with the news of Spider-man’s arch nemesis Kraven the Hunter being cast with Aaron Taylor Johnson in the role, I thought it’d be the perfect time to revisit one of the classic covers of the 1980’s limited series. Check out The Amazing Spider-man #293 from 1987’s brilliant cover by Zeck. Hopefully the cinematic version of Kraven will honor not only this iconic look but also pay homage to the classic storyline. This cover truly shows just how great Zeck is with this brilliant work of art!
The 1989 “Trial of The Hulk” Daredevil Returns in Marvel’s Netflix Series?! WTF?!
Ummm…this is a bit of an odd surprise here, we just got the official look at the new Marvel Daredevil from the upcoming Netflix series today and well it seems they’ve decided upon the 1989 “Trial of The Incredible Hulk” TV series version of the characters costume!!? I’m not kidding this is exactly the same costume design from that movie that Rex Smith wore! Which, um….wasn’t really the best interpretation of the character I’ve seen, heck I might even take the Affleck Daredevil’s maroon leather look over this one! Don’t believe me? Check out this newly released pic:
And now let’s look at the 1989 Trial of The Incredible Hulk Tv version:
Ummm…kinda Baffling huh? I guess we’ll see how this all plays out, my guess is the newly released Marvel pic above could be Daredevil’s starter costume? Like maybe it’s the first one that he puts together? If not boy that sucks!!! I wonder if John Rhys-Davies will be returning as the Kingpin?!!!
Comic Book Cover of the Week! Web of Spider-Man #1!
It’s Halloween month and i have decided to add a few of my favorite creepy dark comic book covers of all time! The first one is from 1985’s Web of Spider-Man #1. This cover still remains as one of my all time favorite images of Spidey ever painted by Charles Vess. Plus I have always LOVED the black costume. I this issue he began battling the alien symbiote costume and battling the Vulturions and later the Vulture. This era of Spider-man remains possibly my favorite still-this cover suddenly put him in the same league as The Dark Knight! This costume is almost as classic as the red and blue in my opinion!
