The Winter Olympics with The Hulk & Spider-man?!

The Winter Olympics are in session and even though not a lot of people seem to be particularly interested this year I thought it would be cool to showcase a classic GIGANTO comic book cover that features a sporting event that’s WAY more up my alley!

The Winter Olympics featuring The Incredible Hulk versus Spider-man center stage! Now that’s one event that I’ll show up for any time of the the damn year!

This particular issue is presented in one of my favorite formats that Marvel used to put out, the gigantic treasury edition comic books were absolutely nuts to have as a child! This was an epic issue from 1980 that had a sweet back cover as well featuring some Olympic Winter Mole Man mayhem!

That Epic Time When Star Trek’s Spock Kicked Wolverine’s Ass!

Just a reminder to everyone out there, if you’d forgotten or ever wondered who’d win in a fight between Star Trek’s Spock & Wolverine, I’m here to remind you there is a definitive answer! Yep back in 1996, X-men did indeed meet Star Trek in a one shot comic book crossover and well, just take a look!

VICTORY!!

Star Wars: A New Hope’s ‘Obi Wan & Vader Fight’ Gets BRUTAL!

Damn! This dropped a day or so ago, it’s a fan made film that’s updating Star Wars: A New Hope’s  classic but clunky fight between Obi Wan & Darth Vader. They used bits from the original movie and orchestrated a whole new fight sequence between the two and the results are pretty stunning to say the least. I never really minded the fight in ‘A New Hope’ but was also never wowed by it either.

This video from FXitinpost titled “Star Wars: SC 38” video which means “Scene 38” gives the classic fight more tension, more action and much more danger than the original with out going to far over the top with back flips, matrix back arches etc. Of course due to budgetary restraints you can see some CG spots a bit in the background and obviously they cgi’d Obi wan’s face several times over the stunt actor doing the battle with Vader. That’s all ok, because as you can see the passion behind it, the general idea they’re going for & choreography are pretty fucking incredible. Check it out as it adds a whole new dimension to this sequence in the movie!

One thing I’d like to ad, after watching this video, it got me thinking about how I’d hoped for something like this for an older Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi, squaring off against Kylo Ren or The Knights of Ren. Instead I got my hopes and expectations “subverted” by director Rian Johnson. It’s odd that fans are more capable these days of giving fans of Star Wars, material that they might actually find more exciting than a multi billion dollar corporation can. I think Disney Star Wars needs to pay attention to videos like this so we can avoid uninspired scenes like this next one I’m posting, where an iconic character we haven’t seen for 30 plus years is replaced with as a ‘hologram’ & sorta “battle” for 30 seconds:

This Christmas Will Be a Full On Battle of the Krampuses!!

Finally we’ve gotten the official trailer for Michael Dougherty’s upcoming Christmas horror flick simple titled “Krampus” and it looks amazing!!! I’m so stoked for this film this Christmas I’d put it directly behind ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ as the movie I’ve been most excited for in 2015. Dougherty’s the guy responsible for the incredible 2007 Halloween themed movie ‘Trick R Treat’. If you’ve seen that then you know he’s got the skills to give us an incredible holiday horror movie!

Yep I’ve waited it seems my whole life for a proper Krampus horror movie, let’s face it, it’s completely absurd that it’s somehow taken this long to get one. If you’ve yet to see this trailer check it out right now:

But wait! Dougherty’s ‘Krampus’ flick has an opponent this year in the form another movie which features Krampus as one of it’s main antagonists, ‘A Christmas Horror Story’ is also slated for release this year! Not only does this movie feature Krampus, but also features William Shatner and a horde of evil zombie elves who attack Santa Claus! This one also seems to feature, by a split second in the trailer a battle between Santa and muthfukin’ Krampus!! Ahhhh!

This year we’ve got some good ones to look forward to that’s for sure. So I’m a bit torn thus far on which one will be the “definitive” Krampus flick. My gut tells me Dougherty’s is going to be the clear victor as I’m digging the look so far of Krampus in his movie as huge hulking frightening monster while in ‘A Christmas Horror Story’ he looks totally fierce but more of a man beast bodybuilder dude. I’ve also heard Kevin Smith had a Krampus movie in the works (but maybe he decided to jump ship as the competition got fierce) and also that Jim Henson studios were developing one called “Happy Krampus”. My guess is we won’t be seeing these until next year. So what do you think? Which of the two Krampus movies do YOU think will emerge victorious in this year’s battle of the Krampuses?!!

The Two Most Annoying Horror Icons Do Battle!

Ok I just saw this little video recently and just had to post for anyone who may have missed out. Yeah I did a blog here a while back on the incredibly irritating Wishmaster. Yes people he’s so damn annoying it’d be hard to take him seriously if he was terrorizing you! Then There’s Leprechaun-equally annoying especially when he’s in Da’ Hood! Well what would happen if these two losers battled it out? Wonder no more cuz here you have it!!! Enjoy!

Let’s Get Ready To Rumble! The Greatest Cartoon Brawls Part 6!

So in my opinion The Secret of  Nimh could easily be the best animated movie ever! It really doesn’t get any better- an epic, intellegent story, Don Bluth‘s absolutley stunning animation and some serious ass kicking action to boot!

Seriously rewatch this movie if you haven’t seen it in a while and you WILL not be let down! I wish we could get Bluth back to focus on another amazing movie- let’s not forget he animated Dragon’s Lair and Space Ace too both incredible classic 80’s arcade games! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find a fight sequence of better quality to put here-but the final battle between the evil rat Jenner & the heroic Justin is one of the best cartoon battles ever!

Let’s Get Ready To Rumble! The greatest Cartoon Brawls Part 4!

Yeah it’s fighting time again here at Universal Dork! Today we have a great cartoon fight between Superman and Solomon Grundy! This One comes from the awesome Justice League cartoon. I always enjoyed them because they were always so well animated. It kinda gets me pumped about the possibiltiy of a Justice League movie!

It’s always nice to see good ol’ Supes brawling the bad guys at least the ones who can actually put up a fight-as you can see in this epic cartoon battle Solomon Grundy is no push over!
