I have been on a hunt for new pants for myself for quite a while-and now I know 100% now that I have to track down a pair of these awesome Chuck Norris Action Slacks!! I’m a big fan of vintage clothing in fact I own a vintage clothing store here in Portland Oregon called “Hollywood Babylon”- well how’s that for shameless self promotion? I just began today officially searching for a vintage pair of these for myself because well who doesn’t want to kick ass like ol’ Chuck?
I remember seeing ads for these pants back in the 80′s when I was a kid and I always thought they were funny but today I guess it really dawned on me that they are actually super fly! Look closely at the crotch as they have a super stretchy area so that you can kick really high and not split your pants. Well I tell you only Norris could come up with something like these for the public. I bet too that it hurt like hell back then to be kicked in the face with those bad ass cowboy boots he’s always wearing too! So yeah I will find a pair-I will keep you posted!!

Way back in 1980 I had the coolest pictures of the Hulk ever! They came in the Marvel Super Hero Portfolio collection and one of the collections was based entirely on ol’ jade jaws himself!! I just ran across these on Ebay while searching for vintage super hero t-shirts and stuff and it was like a blast back in time!
So naturally it’s bidding time and actually they are not pricey at all. I thought I’d share these amazing pics here for anyone who’s never seen these awesome painting by Fastner & Larsen who also did an amazing Spider-Mna portfolio as well! Check these bad boys out!

This weeks cover is one of my faves- Hulk number 5 marks the very first of appearance of Tyrannus one of the Hulk’s most under rated villains! This classic cover beautifully drawn by Jack Kirby shows exactly why he is and will forever be known as quite possibly the best comic book artist of all time. It just doesn’t get any better than this folks!

It’s been a few days since I have blogged on here and I will admit it’s actually been because I have been super busy with a new store I am starting right here in pdx! Nope I haven’t been out partyin’ down every night I’ve been hard at work on “Hollywood Babylon” a vintage / modern cothing resale store. Hopefully next time Danzig comes through town he’ll stop by so I can sock him in the face! Oh I’ll be just as happy to sock Jerry Only in the face too!
Also I came down with some sort of flu like fever last night, and it’s kinda funny I tried to watch Twilight: New Moon last night. I must have been sick huh? I made it almost to the end and then just flat out didn’t give a shit. Hey I tried…
Anyway so today feeling a bit groggy I feel like I may need to actually rent myself a good movie to bring my spirits back up-so per a recommendation of a friend I was given this suggestion. Jake West’s “Evil Aliens”.
I actually recently did a blog about his latest movie Doghouse and this one looks just as good! It supposedly came out in 2005-how the hell could this have slipped under my radar? Check out the trailer:

Take a moment to appreciate the Marvel Super Heroes with this lovely theme song from the 1960′s! Yeah they ARE exotically neurotic-those are the words-Who would have known huh??

So everyone knows that smokin’ is bad for ya! Right? Well sometimes though you can easily be swayed when a dastardly supervillain named Nicotine sweet talks you with pro-smokin’ fancy talk!! After you watch this old PSA starring Superman you’ll clearly see how you sometimes need a hero to help you kick the habit! check this shit out-it’s actually a pretty awesomely animated little cartoon even if it was the first and LAST appearance of one of Superman’s greatest foes!!

Ok after my plea from my blog earlier today for someone to reveal to me and in a way reunite me with one of my all time favorite toys as a kid I got a speedy response from my friend TJ! It turns out that I was on the right track as I tried to remember the name of one of the coolest late 70′s toy monsters, Krusher!! I was searching for Crusher instead but now have found some rad images of him and a strange Youtube video as well. First off here’s what he looked like on the cover of the box he came in! What a bad ass huh?? You could deflate him and krush him up into a ball-then inflate him usuing his nifty belt!
So I thought maybe there would be a cool old school commercial up on Youtube but instead I first found this weird video of this guy playing with Krusher while Olivia Newton John’s hit song “Physical” plays in the background. (more…)

I am not sure what made me think about this today but I thought I needed to pay a little respect to one of the coolest toys ever-Stretch X-Ray! He appeared in 1979 as Stretch Armstrong’s most deadly enemy and man was this guy the envy of all kids including myself! He was such a hard ass with his see through “x-ray” body that you could even see all his inner organs!!
This guy was so much of an improvement on the Stretch Octopus character who I always thought was kinda a douche!! I mean check out his lame face they gave him! Some one needs too kick Stretch Octopus’ ass to the moon already!
Now it’s a no brainer obviously that Stretch X-ray was way cool but was he as cool as Stretch Monster though? I don’t think so-but I have a soft spot for any monster who resembles the Incredible Hulk’s arch enemy The Abomination. And what’s up with young Spock playing with Stretch Monster in this pic below? Ummm…AMAZING!
Thinking of Stretch Monster has also led me on a wild goose chase on the internet today desperately trying to figure out the proper name to one of my other favorite monster toys from the 80′s. This particular toy monster was green as well and infact quite similar to Stretch Monster in looks. He was probably almost 2 feet tall, green and actually kinda resembled Whiplash from the Masters of the Universe line of action figures. The cool thing about him was that you could crush him into a ball as he was filled mainly with air and then from what I remember you could inflate him back to his normal size by pulling something on his belt? Does this ring a bell for anyone?? Anyway if anyone knows what I’m talking about please let me know-it’s killing me as I’ve been searching on ebay and You Tube for commercials of this bad ass! Anyway the thought of Stretch X-Ray once again proves that vintage monsters still rule the school!!!

As you may have noticed there has been a bit of a lull in the posting here as I am actually back in Wisconsin visiting with my family and getting ready to take a road trip back to Oregon this week. So if I don’t post for the majority of the week it’s because I am driving cross country! Anyway today I went out into the shed at my parents home here in the northwoods and checked out some of my old toys that I have stored here. There are some damn good ones! Old Transformers, tons of Super Powers figures, Secret Wars figures, Inhumanoids, actual Muppets puppets, G.I. Joes, lunch boxes, tons of He-Man and suprisingly quite a few toys that are for some reason missing!
Anyway I did find two things I was looking for in particular. Two Marvel models from 1978 made by a company called Fandimensions. (more…)
