I can’t say I didn’t see it coming, today as it was announced that Darren Aronofsky would no longer be directing “The Wolverine”, a stand alone movie that would have had nothing to do (thank god) with the first Wolverine movie. According to Aronofsky the movie would keep him away from his family for far too long-though many are saying it was due to not having enough creative control over the movie. Either way there you have it-finally something exciting was geared up to go down with the character, something dark and dare I say actually intellectually engaging?
Well now that Darren is off to do something more artsy I’m sure we’re gearing up to get more of the same bullshit that we got served with that last film…ughhh. I really had high hopes for a dark Wolverine movie done the way the character deserves. Apparently the show will go on with another director with Jackman still set to play Wolverine.
Now the question is who will they get to take a stab at Wolvie? Your guess is as good as mine, it seems to me it’d better be someone who actually gives a damn and isn’t just trying to serve up another load of shit to force feed the masses- Chris Nolan, Guillermo de Toro hell I’d even take Zack Snyder! But it seems they’re all busy with other projects….um Bryan Singer we need you now more than ever!! in the mean time check this out-it’s actually a lot better than the last Wolverine movie…not bad for a fun fan boy film actually-maybe we should just give up and give this guy the job…

Wow now here’s some good news out there for all of you people who actually love the character, Wolverine. It has been confirmed by Darren Aronofsky that the upcoming Wolverine movie he is directing will NOT be a sequel to that god awful pile of flaming horseshit we were delivered a couple years back entitled X-men Origins: Wolverine he tells Hitfix. Instead this movie will be an entity entirely of its own.
“The film that he’s directing is officially called “The Wolverine,” (more…)

The Thundercats were probably one of the coolest cartoons of the 1980′s hands down! For one it had amazing animation (especially for being a regular after school cartoon) which seeemed to be a step above the rest. Secondly it also produced some pretty amazing action figures and a Marvel comic book too! The creators of the Thundercats also made a couple other less popular cartoon series that were equally great, The Silver Hawks and The Tiger Sharks(check them both out sometime if you haven’t already).
So I heard a couple years back they were supposed to make a movie of the Thundercats, so naturally I searched on Youtube for any teasers or random info. What I found instead was a pretty impressive fan made trailer! The scenes are obviously strung together from different movies and someone has oviously used some CG to make Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and Vin Diesel look exactly like the Thundercats. Hey I just wanted to share this for anyThundercats fans out there-it looks like a live action Thundercats movie could be pretty darn cool. From what I understand however it seems the movie that is currently in production will be an all CG cartoon version slated for release sometime in 2010.

So today I decided to go check out X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I was pretty pumped I must say since I have always wanted to see Wolverine in a true gritty hack ‘em slash’em onscreen adventure. Plus I have been a pretty big fan of Hugh Jackman as everybody’s fav berserker canuck! Let’s face it folks, Hugh is looking better than he ever has as this character. I’ve always had high hopes for this film since we have the perfect leading man cast as Wolverine and let’s face it it’s gotta be pretty hard to make a crappy Wolverine movie right? Well they went against all the odds and succeeded in making an ultra crap-tastic adventure!! Yes true beleivers Wolverine does indeed, well, kinda suck.

Who would have known that George Clooney was such a HUGE Wolverine fan?!! It seems he’s so hyped about the film that he’s been seen and photographed several times in this Wolverine costume around town. Perhaps he’s just jealous of Hugh Jackman? Or maybe just losing his mind? Maybe he wants to star in the sequel? Whatever the reason it’s clear he’s a TOTAL fanboy!!!
George Clooney is definately seeing Wolverine today!!

I know all I really do is just bitch about comic book movies! Yeah I am never quite satisfied with the decisions people make for the movie versions of my favorite comic books. I loved The Dark Knight movie this last year and Loved Heath Ledger in it. But I still don’t see him as the Joker I have known to love my entire life. Well I know everyone has seen the previews for the new “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and you know what? It looks pretty damn rad! I will probably totally love this movie but one thing I know I don’t love is the way Leiv Schrieber looks as his iconic arch nemesis “Sabretooth”.
