Wow here’s a first of it’s kind-the new Woolite commercial directed by…. Rob Zombie?!! Yeah I know it sounds like some weird fucked up dream, but it’s true it’s the first of it’s kind, the first horror themed detergent commercial!!

Well no actually, but wouldn’t that be awesome?!? It occured to me last night as I threw in Wes “Scre4m” Craven’s Swamp Thing last night before I hit the sack that there are some movies that I’d welcome a remake for provided they have the right director attached-Swamp thing is one such movie.
That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy the ridiculous vibe of the original Swamp thing or even the more campy (if you can believe that) Swamp Thing 2 (more…)

Word on the street is that The Wolverine, the sequel to the god damn awful “X-men Origins: Wolverine” is possibly back on track after the recent depressing news that Darren Aronofsky, had left the project. Naturally I thought the worst, thinking our new director would be some hack like Michael Bay or Uwe Boll and we’d get a repeat of the last movie-more shit served up hot for us true Wolverine fans.
Well it seems someone out there still gives a damn about ol’ Wolvie as new has hit that Duncan Jones, son of David Bowie and director of the amazing sci-fi movie Moon and most recently Source Code (which I’ve yet to see). If you’ve seen his work you’ll agree that if he does indeed direct The Wolverine we’ll be getting something special from a director who actually cares about the final product. So once again, I am excited about a new Wolverine movie, so please guys don’t let me down again….
Check this interview out where we get a little bit of the scoop on Wolverine!

I loved it in the 80′s when rock stars starred in bad horror movies! One such movie, which is a real stinker is Monster Dog from 1984 starring Alice Cooper. What really do you expect from Claudio Fragasso, best know for directing Troll 2?! C’mon! So yes let me be honest with you this movie is pretty bad-but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have it’s redeeming qualities!
The plot is simple, Cooper stars as Vincent Raven, the world’s hottest rock star and he’s traveling back to his home town to make a new hot fresh video (which by the way is a total piece of shit once you see how it turns out)! He brings along a bunch of his annoyingly square friends, who on their way to his old creepy childhood mansion home run into…..a god damn monster dog (and the token creepy crazy old dude who tells them they’re all….DOOMED)!! I can’t say I didn’t see it coming, today as it was announced that Darren Aronofsky would no longer be directing “The Wolverine”, a stand alone movie that would have had nothing to do (thank god) with the first Wolverine movie. According to Aronofsky the movie would keep him away from his family for far too long-though many are saying it was due to not having enough creative control over the movie. Either way there you have it-finally something exciting was geared up to go down with the character, something dark and dare I say actually intellectually engaging?
Well now that Darren is off to do something more artsy I’m sure we’re gearing up to get more of the same bullshit that we got served with that last film…ughhh. I really had high hopes for a dark Wolverine movie done the way the character deserves. Apparently the show will go on with another director with Jackman still set to play Wolverine.
Now the question is who will they get to take a stab at Wolvie? Your guess is as good as mine, it seems to me it’d better be someone who actually gives a damn and isn’t just trying to serve up another load of shit to force feed the masses- Chris Nolan, Guillermo de Toro hell I’d even take Zack Snyder! But it seems they’re all busy with other projects….um Bryan Singer we need you now more than ever!! in the mean time check this out-it’s actually a lot better than the last Wolverine movie…not bad for a fun fan boy film actually-maybe we should just give up and give this guy the job…

Wow now here’s some good news out there for all of you people who actually love the character, Wolverine. It has been confirmed by Darren Aronofsky that the upcoming Wolverine movie he is directing will NOT be a sequel to that god awful pile of flaming horseshit we were delivered a couple years back entitled X-men Origins: Wolverine he tells Hitfix. Instead this movie will be an entity entirely of its own.
“The film that he’s directing is officially called “The Wolverine,” (more…)

It’s funny but sometimes there are certain movies I actually want to be remake or in this case rebooted. The movie at hand here is The League of Extraordinary Gentleman and if you have seen this steaming pile of shit of a movie from 2003 then you know exactly why I am starting the campaign right here at Universal Dork to get this rebooted and done the right way! So it would seem kinda weird huh since the movie was released a mere seven years ago right? Well think about how fast The Incredible Hulk was rebooted, now Spider-man and the Fantastic Four. So why not The League? Though the movie was pretty well cast Stephen Norrington still managed to totally fuck it up. God damn they even managed to get Sean Connery cast as Quartermain!
Did he ever even read the comic book? If so did he just decide to trash it on purpose with an unmemorable, generic pile of Hollywood bull shit dumbed down for the masses? The answer most likely is YES. It’s really no secret that the movie sucked the big one real hard so what I think is that we need a good director say like Zack Snyder to reboot this thing and make it the movie it should have been. It had, like the book, the potential to be a grand adventure in the same vein as Indiana Jones.
It also should have retained some of the grit of the original series (more…)

What the SHIT!!!! So news is apparrently that Guillermo Del Toro has officially quit The Hobbit!! This has got to be some sort of nightmare that I just can’t seem to wake from! But I assure you that this is the sad truth as he told TheOneRing.net flat out that he’s just too damn tired of waiting to make this shit happen!! Well guess what? I’m pretty fucking tired of waiting for this shit to happen too!!! Apparently he can’t seem to commit to spending six years in New Zealand as he has been facing a boat load of delays on the project and was only signed on to be there originally for three years. It’s no wonder he split as they don’t even have a god damn Bilbo Baggins cast yet! Ok guys I have been holding back a bit on saying this but seriously….GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER ALREADY! JEEEZUS! I must say I too have been wondering what the hell these guys have been doing for the last few years myself-I mean really the damn story has already been written-GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!
Anyway this is what he had to say about it: (more…)

Ok first off I wanna say I’m sorry for the lull in the blogs for the past few days but I am temporarily out of internet service which can make blogging a bit difficult! Hopefully this will be resolved by the weekend but for the moment I am catching a wireless signal on my roomie’s laptop! So I figured I should at least put up a quick blog!
Anyway it’s news to me but today I found out that there is indeed going to be a remake of one of my all time fav sci fi movies: Fantastic Voyage! If you have yet to see the original you best rent that as soon as possible as it is truly fantastic. The 1966 movie is pretty amazing as a submarine and it’s crew are shrunk down and injected in to the body of a dying man racing against time to repair a blood clot in his brain. The only problem is after an hour inside the body it’s immune system will be able to detect them. Now imagine this movie made in 1966-no cg. You might think it’d be a simply ridiculous looking movie. Not the case, for it’s time and even now I’d say the movie still has some great visuals and a helluva alot of charm. (more…)

I heard today that Bryan Singer is now officially off of the X-men: First Class movie. It seems there were scheduling problems with his other project “Jack The Giant Killer”. He will however stay on as producer for the X-men film which at least means he will have some hand in the movie’s final outcome. I don’t put to much faith in the upcoming X-men related movies anymore after we got the Third film and then the absolutely wretched Wolverine flick. The X-men First Class movie will follow the early days of them X-men most likely with new young hip actors cast in the roles of the X-men. I seriously wonder what team mebers will make up the original team here as for some reason Ice-man was made a teenager in the movie franchise and the Angel didn’t even really “join” until the third film.
Personally I could really care less about the “First Class” movie now. I am honestly more excited about Singer doing Jack the Giant Killer. (more…)
