It seems that a lot of people just weren’t big fans of the first Anne Hathaway Catwoman picture revealed. They Complained her costume was lame and compared it to the Tim Burton Pfeiffer version which I will agree was pretty awesome. If you ask me however the costume for Batman in Nolan’s movie has always kinda bugged me. I just don’t really like the huge bulky kevlar armor thing that’s going on there-but the movies were so well done I was quickly able to get past it. So to me the Hathaway costume is quite acceptable-as we can all agree that at the very least she’s not also running around in a big black chuncky kevlar hockey suit as well!
However for me personally I am a bigger fan of Julie Newmar from the original series!!

So did everyone out there get a good look today at the new Superman today? It seems the new photo of Henry Cavill as Supes is causing quite a buzz online today. What I am confused about is why these new movie super heroes seem to be constructing their costumes out of basketballs?!
Seriously this is the new trend- The new Spider-man also has a costume constructed from basketballs.
Hmmm….not really all that into that look personally and geezus it’s gotta be hot as shit! This new extreme look for super heroes is actually kinda lame. I have got to be honest, I pretty much can firmly say that all the super hero costumes so far in the movies kinda blow. Even Batman, looks pretty lame with all of his clunky armor even though the movies have been pretty rad. What I will say is that these super hero movies will not age well, honestly I’m not too sure how long they will continue to keep my attention. They are an amusing watch the first time but upon second viewing end up being pretty flat and totally plastic. That being said the new Superman looks more like a friendlier version of Bizzaro. It appears as if Superman has been given the Chris Nolan dark hero look which personally doesn’t really work for me….

I just heard yesterday about this JLA Tv pilot from 1997 that you can see on Youtube now, yeah you can watch the whole damn wretched thing! I honestly didn’t even know this existed until I read about it in The Portland Mercury yesterday. It’s from back in 1997, it never saw the light of day and I can undertsand why! It totally sucks in every way possible. It’s super flippin’ boring for a show that is supposed to be about some of the earth’s mightiest heroes! Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman knew better than to get involved in this terd! Seriously I combed over what I could stomach of this hunk of shit and could barely find anything that remotely resembled an action sequence-it’s no wonder no tv station wanted this shit on the air-check it out here…bizarre!!!

Ok so this isn’t really that obscure of a movie, but I do know that a good number of my friends have never actually seen 1989′s Return of the Swamp Thing!!! What the hell is up with that? You do see the original Swamp Thing movie all over the place but very rarely do you see the sequel, which is actually kind of a reboot. So I say to all you people there that love super radly bad 80′s movie’s that you best be seeking this gem out!
This box office bomb has it all really, super awesome 1980′s monsters are everywhere in this movie and even better they are throwin’ down with each other constantly! (more…)

I was talking with some friends the other night about something I think is really interesting and kinda depressing in the world of comics books. The topic of realism in super hero comic books. I am not talking realism in a way of superhuman beings roaming the earth, having crazy powers and fighting crime. Nope, you see that’s all more than fine with me. I am rather talking about the fact that it seems almost every super hero or super team seems to have a full cast of beautifully sculpted super models in their ranks. Even worse is the fact that almost every artist draws everyones faces the same-I mean most of the time Bruce Banner is drawn with same face as Reed Richards, Captain America or Cyclops! Kind of a cookie cutter “safe” bland drawing of men or women in comic books. See this has been happening since the beginning of comic books and to be quite honest it’s kinda lame.
I personally would LOVE to see a little more depth and realism in my comic books. Why does every woman have to have the same perfect body?? Doesn’t The Invisible Woman ever eat too many donuts when nobody is looking? (more…)

So here’s a question I have pondered for quite sometime:
Who came first the Man-Thing or Swamp Thing?!
It would seem that one MUST have copied the other, they both are squishy, slimey monsters that roam around in the swamp and they both decided to have their last name be “Thing”….coincidence? I highly doubt it! Well I decided to finally check out exactly who jumped onto the scene first. It appears that Marvel’s Man thing hopped onto the scene a mere 2 months before DC’s Swamp Thing way back in 1971!!
Man-Thing made his first appearance in the May issue of Savage Tales #1 and Swamp Thing jumped onto the scene in the July issue of House of Secrets #92. So even though it seems that Swamp Thing has reaped a lot more success than our buddy Man-Thing we all know who the O.G. swamp monster really was! Thank god I can finally get some rest at night now!!

Well isn’t it? I mean how long have we had to wait for this moment? Ten seasons it seems but let’s still keep in mind it still may not really happen-at most I bet we get just a glimpse of Tom at the end of the season donning the red n’ blue tights. But who knows-maybe Zack Snyder will be so impressed with Welling in the suit that he’ll cast him in his own movie?! Highly doubtful I know but there have been rumors of a possible television movie to follow the final season. I for one feel he should have hopped in the suit a long time ago! It probably would have given the show the kick start it really needed….

I just recently saw this cover and I just had to share this here! It seems like Superman, Batman & Robin may be overstepping their boundaries maybe just a little bit here on this one don’t you think?! Hopefully the police didn’t get involved because seriously folks Batman looks WAY too stoked on the idea of stripping down!!

It certainly seems that Superman is back on track once again with the recent news that Chris Nolan and director Zack Snyder are determined to get the man of steel done right this time! That’s great news for all the legions of Supes fans out there-Who else would you trust more with the character? I guess we could have said that once before when we heard that Bryan Singer was onboard for the last disappointing Superman installment.
Still though I have great expectations that this time around Superman will be kicking ass like he should have been and did before in the late 70′s. The question on everyone’s minds now is who will don the red and blue this time around? Surprisingly Brandon Routh is being considered (more…)

Yeah it’s fighting time again here at Universal Dork! Today we have a great cartoon fight between Superman and Solomon Grundy! This One comes from the awesome Justice League cartoon. I always enjoyed them because they were always so well animated. It kinda gets me pumped about the possibiltiy of a Justice League movie!
It’s always nice to see good ol’ Supes brawling the bad guys at least the ones who can actually put up a fight-as you can see in this epic cartoon battle Solomon Grundy is no push over!
