It’s almost Halloween and it’s time to tell some ghost stories! Well the best ghost stories of them all are the ones that really happened! So i figured I might as tell one that happened to me about 2 years ago. Mind you it’s really the only real ghostly encounter I’ve ever had except for the unexplainable Paulding Light which I blogged right here about sometime ago. Keep in mind too that I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to ghosts.

Well this true story happened near the Grand Canyon at a little motel near the woods called “The Canyon Motel” (more…)

So for those of you that are familiar with the infamous Ron Jeremy, you know full well that there are no porn movie plots that are beneath him. From spoof of the Adam’s Family (The Maddams Family) to Flatliners (Fatliners), Mr. Jeremy has starred in over 1000 movies! And add to the madness of porn legacy that he has constructed, apparently he starred in Super Hornio Brothers…a spoof on Super Mario at the time that the Nintendo NES and SNES were kings…yeah the good old days of 1993.

This is by far the best season to watch horror movies! So what are you gonna do with yourself before halloween? Spend your money sitting at a bar? Go to bed early? Watch reruns of Small Wonder ’til 2am? Smash some neighborhood pumpkins? No way! It’s Horror Movie Night time!! Pick out a few movies make some good food, grab some beer, invite some friends over and watch a few awesome movies in honor of this splendid holiday! But the real question is what to watch right? Well ponder this no longer because here are five movies that will be sure to please the even the most finnicky of your friends!
1. Trick ‘r Treat.
You read of the review months ago right here and luckily this one got released before halloween. This is probably your best bet for Horror Night since it obviously takes place on halloween and is one of the coolest halloween themed movies I have ever seen. It has a cool old school 80′s vibe, no CG and has four awesome interwoven tales of the macabre! Produced by X-men’s own Bryan singer to boot!

Halloween has gotta be the best holiday ever! I mean what’s better than dressiing up as whatever you want for one night? Watching scary movies?? Eating candy? Scaring people and small children?! It’s no wonder that the one of the best bands ever wrote one of the best punk songs about it! The Misfits embody everything great about this holiday and Iam not talking about Jerry Only and his Misfits cover band he tours around as now. Check out this cool video from the early 80′s where The Misfits perfrom this classic. It’s time to get pumped for hallowwen 2009!

The A-Team is officially back with this new photo which was just released on the web. I am really not sure what to make of this yet. I have fears of remaking these TV shows into movies as thoughts of The Dukes of Hazzard and Land of the Lost enter my mind. I’m not entirely sure what approach they are taking with this one. A parody like The Brady Bunch? Or a full on action movie with tons of CG and explosions? Lets face it the show was a classic and a huge hit in the 80′s but does it really need to be made into a movie? It’s kinda pointless without Mr. T isn’t it?? Well I guess from the picture Liam Neeson looks pretty cool as Hannibal. In all reality this movie will probably suck pretty damn bad as do most things they remake. It is shecduled to hit theaters in June 2010. I however am definately not going to risk 10 bucks at the theater to see this one. I think I’ll just watch the originals on dvd…

So a couple nights ago I saw a movie that quite simply blew my mind! It’s rare to find a movie that can keep me interested when I start it after 1 am. Usually 30 minutes into it I’m out like a light. NOT the case with ”Pontypool”, which is the name of where this movie takes place. It’s been tagged as a zombie movie, which made me at first a little reluctant to rent this new release. I mean really, do we need another zombie movie at this point? Well I am happy to say that it was much more than a zombie flick.

Somebody please help me with this tricky story problem! If you have one deformed bounty hunter searching for a Voodoo doctor trying to raise an army of the undead and you add one really hot chick, a little bit of John Malkovich and have a metal band score the movie…WTF do you get??? Apparently this is the vision for the new Jonah Hex movie that is set for release in June 2010. Please read on.

I keep finding more halloween treasures from mychildhood on Youtube! Check out this awesome clip of Alice Cooper performing “Welcome To My Nightmare” on the Muppet Show’s halloween special! The Muppet Show was probably the greatest tv show of all time by the way and Jim Henson has got to be one of the greatest people to have ever graced this planet. So check out Alice as he rocks out with some spooky muppets!

Historically, and most notably in the last couple years, Vampires have been ruling the roost of the classic horror style monsters. From Nosferatu, through the Anne Rice years, and now with True Blood and Twinkle…or Tinkle…or Twilight…(whatever that lame ass 16 year old girl popular vamp series is!!) these blood suckers are just about as popular as Zombies. Don’t get me wrong, there are uber vamp movies out there that I consider bright spots (Blade, Near Dark, and Fright Night). But let’s loose these sad Goth night lovers and I hope I see a new revival of the classic Werewolf! Early 2010 looks to be bringing these furry cursed friends to the big screen in a new and classic way.
